Quiet good spot specially if your out of sunlight and wanna camp beside the road, it's a small campground with tables provided, it's clean but the road inside the camp was a little bumpy maybe due to the snow the land got muddy and leaves marks.. free campground ( we saw one camping) could be the caretaker or so, we just passed by here and check the area. (7/4/2023) No internet connection! (Verizon users)

Great campsite in tall pine trees. Maybe five or six spots, I did not see any outhouse. It does sit very close to the road, for a fairly remote place was surprised amount of cars driving by...Rose Creek Campground is just down the road a bit and there were a lot of people there so might been source of the traffic. Stayed here on a Friday night. From Phoenix (Camelback and 51) was 2 hour 20 minutes drive. Gorgeous drive. The last 12 or so miles are single lane curvy mountain roads. I would not bring a trailer camper here. Campsite is clean, picnic tables cannot be moved, some the sites had rock fire pits mine did not. Zero cell service on Sprint. Definitely recommend.

It's where they got 3,000,000 bft of lumber to build the Roosevelt Dam, etc. Back in 1905 and hauled down the mountain 32 miles by horse. Quite Impressive

Great place to stay and hike ...We couldn't stay away from this place we went back for another hike at armer mountain this time around was soooo much easier and soooo much faster we also found a different route to come down the mountain and took us straight to the memorial site and to rose creek which by doing so it shave about a mile !! And the path was much cleaner not to mention the views!!!! ...we saw a mountain lion!! that was a bit scary specially since we were at the EDGE of the mountain ...but he was not aggressive at all he climbed the rocks so smoothly and disappear into the bushes thank goodness . The weather was 10 degrees hotter not as much snow on the mountain like last Sunday overall great hike ....

Great spot for hiking and camping. Beautiful scenery all around this area. A little road noise near the campground. Forrest ranger was very friendly. Only big negative was the skunk infestation. We saw no less than 4 skunks in our campsite on both nights.
