Customer Reviews
Previously a free to use area, as of May 2024 there is a fee to use this area now. Campground has a pit toilet in fairly good condition. 4 campsites with picnic tables and fire pits, with additional dispersed camping opportunities along the trail. Trail was a bit dusty, especially when bikers pass, but beautiful and interesting scenery. Small creek runs along first part of trail.
Tiny little campground. But well maintained. Woke up early, and hiked Mapleton Sawmill Hollow. Which is in the parking lot of the campground. 7.6 mile hike to the top of the ridge. Saw lots of wildlife. Will come across motorcycles. But still pretty private experience.
Who doesn't like free camping? Good hiking trails nearby.
It's very nice and open people are not on top of each other and the grounds were really nice
A nice little campsite with picnic benches, fire pits, and a pit toilet. Free campsite with many other dispersed camping along the road. Not a whole lot nearby for outdoor recreation, however.
