Sawnee Campground

My wife and I decided to go camping and were pleasantly surprised to discover a campground almost right next to our house on the lake shore. Georgia summers are notoriously hot, but this campground is nestled among well-planted trees, providing plenty of shade and making the heat much more bearable. The sites are spacious, allowing us to set up large tents and sheds over the tables comfortably. The camp is generally very quiet, with the only noise coming from boats on the lake, which we found quite tolerable. We were impressed by how well-maintained and accommodating the campground was. The combination of natural beauty, tranquility, and convenience made our camping experience truly enjoyable. We appreciated the thought put into the layout and amenities, making it easy to relax and unwind. Overall, we had a wonderful time and are already planning our next visit. This campground has become our go-to spot for a quick and refreshing getaway, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a serene camping experience close to home.

My friends and I had our annual Memorial day camping trip at Sawnee Campground this year, and all I can say is, WHAT A PLACE! Mrs. Trish and her team of camp host do an awesome job of maintaining the grounds. And Mrs Trish herself was super nice, very accommodating, as well as very informative. If you need anything while you are there, just reach out to her or one of the other camp host, and I can guarantee they Will help you with whatever they can. With all that said, I absolutely loved the Campground, and cannot wait to camp there again!

I thoroughly enjoyed the peace and view of Lake Lanier. Great and clean amenities.

My kids and Ihave been coming to sawnee camp ground all my kids camping career!!! Never had a problem love this place!!! I personally interacted with a wonderful kind and helpful lady by the name of Trish and a super friendly and kind Gentleman by the name of Dave!!! You both rock socks!!! Made my day better and my trip more funner!!! Thank you both!!! 😊

Very peaceful and beautiful campground, gets most activity on the weekend. This is an Army Corp of Engineer park that’s been closed and just reopened April 2024. It’s now run by Forsyth County. The staff is attentive and getting things organized. Definitely would recommend!
