There are better sites given I was not looking to rock climb or camp, but was in the area for the geology. That said, the surrounding geology is simply amazing, therefore I give this site a 4-star because it's not as top tier on the fossil/geological front. Beautiful nonetheless. Sunset earned a 5/5 hands down. Nothing like a desert sunset whether in the Mojave or Sonoran desert.
Please keep it clean and only park in designated spots. Pit toilets. Lots of pretty respectful campers because it’s for free. Treat it better than you would if you had to pay, please.
Nice campground. As on Wed-Thu is completely empty, only us and old gentleman. Quiet, clean. Sites are not really leveled, road is bumpy as many atvs drive here
Very remote location. BLM site with numerous campgrounds with benches and shelters. Many rock climbers here as well. The view of the night sky is amazing.
Amazing place, the views are breathtaking. From viewing wildlife and the stars at night, plus bike riding, hiking, also world class rock climbing. Truly a great place to go and relax to get away from the city. Bring Water. No water available on site. There is pit toilets, (out-house style). Saturday night may be a little noisy, most other nights are super quiet. 2/3 bar on Verizon
