My husband and I just booked our third camping trip to Scheffel’s Hideaway for July. We discovered this lovely campground after finding Point Beach bookings almost impossible. We have never looked back. Campsites are large and private. The bike trails are amazing. We were putting on 10 miles a day and enjoying Point Beach and Lake Michigan. The campground owners are easy to work with and super helpful and kind.i highly recommend it. Becky Mraz
We go back to this campground every year. Great location near Manitowoc and a day trip to Door County. The bike path takes us to Point Beach State Park or along Lake Michigan. The campground itself is one of the cleanest we have been at. This past fall we enjoyed watching the Packers and Brewers on the big screen TV. We will be back next spring!
Fabulous privately owned campground! Clean clean clean and super nice owners. Access to the bike trail is so convenient. The area is beautiful and it's close enough but not too close to enjoy Manitowoc.
Excellent experience! Great sites, lovely trails, safe place for my little one to ride her bike, and we will definitely come back. Several of our neighbors were all regulars to the park. One lovely couple invited us to learn the game of pickleball (which was awesome!), and another family waved us over to enjoy their company and fire. Thank you to Tammy and Paul for having us.
I was refused a camp spot here when I told her I was working at the nuclear plant. I'm not exactly sure what that was all about, but she said it was because I couldn't stay warm but I don't think that is her concern not exactly sure what the situation is here, but I would never give them my business even if I had a camper which I will be buying soon. I was requesting a tent spot. She was willing to rent me a tent spot until l told her I was working at the nuclear plant, to be clear.
This is a wonderful campground with great bathrooms, showers, and laundry. Right next door is Port Sandy Bay, a great bar/pizza place. Scheffel's Hideaway was a great place to stop and pitch the tent for the night.
We love this campground. It's so clean and well-maintained. Lots of lovely flowers and landscaping. The owners really care. It's a very quiet place, but close to town. We also like being able to walk to supper at Port Sandy Bay restaurant.
