The no-pet policy that applies to animals that don't step out of the RV is ridiculous. We booked there to visit with friends, who knew we had a cat, but didn't know about the policy. We passed signs that stated it but somehow didn't see them. After reading the campground rules and seeing the fines that can be assessed, and even being charged with a misdemeanor, we left early. Between the $35 state campground fee and the nightly fee, we wound up shelling out $100.00 a night. It's a beautiful park. It's sad that they don't care about catering to the 68 % of RVers who travel with their animals. Plenty of fake dogs were placed around to wade off geese from certain areas. Dog owners are very good about picking up after their fur babies, from what I've experienced in years of RVing. Our cat doesn't even go outside. What a stupid policy.

Beautiful public park! $10 currently for day entry and $35 for seasonal entry. Definitely recommend using the facilities IE the beach if you're looking for a local area to cool down. I have not camped in this park however it looks as though the facilities are top-notch for the area!

Nice peaceful relaxing place to camp. The water is clean and the sand is perfect not mushy like some lakes. Kids run free and ride their bikes. Good fishing, and kayaking around the lake.

Always a beautiful place to visit this park was originally my family settlement. So when you venture to the area take a look at the buildings and the monuments and dedications they speak volumes to the family that use to haul sand to the shore line and really how what you see today is a vision of what was started so long ago. We come together for Reunions here every year. During this time you might see us down by the shelters as you first enter, the beaches playground areas. You just never know where we are we are a Nation Within Itself we are known as The Old Settlers Reunion. Sharing the land also means sharing the heritage of the land and it's people. Enjoy the people who maintain it have been doing a great job from the bathhouse to the shelters, shore and the campgrounds it is amazing to see as I am a direct descendant of the Norman's. Thank you for working to keep the land in tact. I enjoy it each time I have came as a small child and now as an adult with a child of my own.

The lake was beautiful! The beach was sandy with cool rocks and shells to find. The store was small with few lunch menu items, mostly snacks and drinks. The grounds and bathrooms were clean. We stayed in one of the newer modern cabins which was nice but there is no a/c and they need more curtains in the bunk bed rooms. There are few trees around the cabin 7 so I'm glad we brought an additional tent for some shade. There is only the fire pit grill to cook on also.
