We have been camping here since 2007. Every year for Father's Day and labor day and this year we missed labor day and decided to do a spur of the moment campout this weekend since it's still really hot the first week of October. Since it's off season, there was almost nobody there and it was wonderful!! More so than usual since it wasn't loud and crowded. The grandkids had a blast! The only drawback was the long trek to the water since it is down so low. I can't say enough good stuff about this campground ❤️. And i got to give our 9 year old granddaughter her first kayak lesson!
Just a beautiful and secluded spot! Wow! We had a wonderful time swimming and sun bathing and bearly saw another person. They have toilets and parking which is helpful. The only thing to note is that the time we went it was very low and so the 'beach' was more of a mud flat. It was fine for us, but you'd be disappointed if you were expecting a sandy beach
Gate one camp site 8. The lake is great, the expensive campground bathrooms, showers needs hygiene Maintenance. They come by and fill the toilet paper but the bathroom and shower room floor needs to be cleaned up ( clumps of hair, mud). For $150 for two nights is way over priced for a dry camp with this under par hygiene Maintenance . We had a bear rip apart the neighbors ice chest at 2:30 am, the NID Maintenance man pick up all the trash cans at 9:30 pm the bear 🐻 tore into the garbage can and had a meal at 1:30 am from trash placed into the trash can after Maintenance man picked up trash. At the dam corner is the only sandy beach on the lake at gate 1 . The water level was about 30ft down from over flow as seen in photo, not bad for August, I've seem the water level lower before at scotts flat in August. There is A sewer pond and three electrical out lets 20amp, 30amp, and 50amp next to site 8 For $150 for two nights of dry camping I would go elsewhere. 3 WEEKS LATER We stayed at SNOW FLOWER RV camp just 25 miles further about the same cost, but Electricity, water, a swimming pool, supper clean bathrooms, clean showers with NO COIN operation. Hot water as long as you want. $69.00 a night The last two photos are from Snow Flower rv camp.
Came to Scott's Flat to try something new and it's nestled in a beautiful area. There's plenty of trees and shaded areas to retreat to on a hot day. The water was also perfect at about 72°. The day use fee was $17 on memorial day (could be less on a non-holiday). There were maybe 30-40 parking spots in the day use, but don't quote me on that as I didn't count. Just get there early if you want a spot. For that many cars though, the area felt a bit crowded and small. Boats also create wakes (day use area isn't a no wake zone) so don't expect 100% calm water. I paddled out to a no wake area, but you get pushed around on the way there and back by the boats. I also traveled around campsites and there's some awesome sites near the water on both sides. Most sites are on the smaller side and the majority are not level so come prepared if tent camping. Overall, it's a beautiful lake with a nice backdrop. It's just better suited for boaters. I do hear that they have no boating days though, so if you like to paddleboard keep an eye out. Not sure on the frequency.
Camped at gate 2. We had a shore site. It was on a bit of a slope. The water was perfect for swimming. I had cell phone service most of the time.
