Park staff trying to stick up for 2 kids but we caught them in a unit coming out of someone unit I was told no park staff is aloud in the units I'm out money on tools not enough to run through my insurance . We been screwed huge over by trailer owner also but we have called by law health department building department I called every damn person I could call cause lawyer cost me $2,500.00 for deposit it's not worth it but I made calls and sent emails details all my pictures and everything
There was a heat wave and the windows to the cabin weren't open upon arrival so it was a little warm inside. The cabins are absolutely gorgeous, set up with fridge, counter space, muskoka chairs and a BBQ. The bathrooms and showers are very clean and always well maintained. The park itself is amazing. Very friendly staff. I'd visit again, absolutely! I had a beautiful experience.
Scugog Landing is well maintained, very clean has lots of activities and things to do for kids and adults. All of the staff are very friendly, approachable, helpful and they actively create a welcoming community environment. One of many examples: Earlier this week, I called the resort office to report a water issue I was having. Kim listened and understood my problem and sent the maintenance staff, Steve and James, to investigate further. Steve and James were kind enough to explain the issue and help me free up the valve temporarily until it could be properly fixed. (The issue wasn’t a park issue it was a malfunction at my trailer). I contact Randy, the local park contractor, and just like Steve, James and Kim, Randy was very helpful and took time out of his day and quickly fixed the water issue. Community is so important and the caring and helpful staff at Scugog Landing fosters a positive community environment. Thank you!
Was absolutely astonished at the condition of our campsite. Granted it had rained but there is no way a campground should have offered this site at a rack rate of $90 a night! Upon arrival our site was covered in debris and garbage. I spent the better part of my evening trying to get ahold of the maintenance to see if they could help us as the site was flooded. I’d asked for at the very least some cardboard or a tarp to keep us safe. Literary a half foot of mud! The garbage on the site was disgusting and poisonous for our kids and dogs. I found sharp objects like pop cans cut open somehow from a lawnmower or weed wacker that had ran them over, poisonous aerosol cans, empty take out food containers and enough water bottles to satisfy a handsome garbage bag. The front desk was completely unsympathetic. Upon further clean up of our site it became apparent that the cottage on the other side of the fence has a water outlet right into our site! Duh! No wonder it’s flooded. Combined with lack of trenching this was a true mudslide attraction. The staff is too useless to properly clean the site to even notice that obvious issue at site 12. We won’t be back. In our 13 years of camping I have never seen a campsite of this condition before and I strongly urge you to get recent photos of any site before securing with your credit card at this location. They just want your money and don’t give a damn about your safety and wellbeing. We’ve tarped the site and it will no doubt cause further damage to their property. But to coin the front desk staff “this is all part of the camping experience “. Well Scugog Landing it won’t be a camping experience we will have with you again. We’ll be taking our money to a campground that respects us. Update: And just to prove how unimportant their customers are with their concerns you can see below that Parkridge responds 5 months after our camping experience. A sad Public Relations attempt to show they care. When indeed it's all here for everyone to see that they don't. Not a phone call, nothing in between to resolve this issue. No updates on our wellbeing or safety expressed during our visit or afterwards. No updates on the campsite itself to prevent garbage buildup, new protocols or staff training put in place to ensure sites are safe for campers and no update if the neighbour who backs onto the property has stopped illegal drainage of unsafe water on to the campsite. Please be mindful when booking with this park for consideration of the safety of your children and pets at the very least.
The team and the association that run the park activities are amazing, but staying here comes at a crazy cost now that it's Corporate owned/run. Do your homework on buying/selling and keeping a boat here before committing.
