Seashell Introduce

Seashell Campground, categorized under Campgrounds & RV Parks, offers a riverside camping experience in Youngstown, FL. Located in Youngstown, FL 32466, and reachable at (850) 539-5999 or +1 850-539-5999, this campground provides a rustic and natural setting for outdoor enthusiasts.

Based on customer reviews, Seashell Campground offers individual sites with amenities such as a private port-a-potty, a shelter with a picnic table, and a grill. The campground also features an overlook of the river and a path with stairs and railings leading down to the water, providing direct river access.

It's important to note that access to the campground involves traveling several miles on dirt roads with multiple turns, culminating in a narrow, one-lane path with overgrown vegetation. This access route can be challenging, particularly in wet conditions. The area experienced significant tree loss during a 2018 hurricane, resulting in limited shade for some campsites. However, some sites do have adequate shade from remaining trees.

The river's clarity can vary depending on recent rainfall, with some reports indicating it becomes very clear due to upstream springs. However, log jams may obstruct river navigation. Recent updates indicate that as of April 2022, the site is open and has undergone remodeling, including the addition of a metal roof shelter with wooden support posts, suitable for hanging hammocks, alongside a BBQ grill, fire pit, and picnic table.

For local users seeking a riverside camping experience in Youngstown, FL, Seashell Campground offers a rustic and potentially secluded retreat. Campers should be prepared for the challenging access road and potential variations in river conditions. Contacting the campground directly at the provided phone number is recommended for the most current information on site conditions, reservations, and specific amenities.

Stayed here mid Sept of 2023. Actual site was not bad. It was clean, it had its own port-a-potty, a shelter with a picnic table and grill. There is a overlook built on the river and then a path leading down to the river where some stairs with railings are. I feel like it should be stated that this is several miles down dirt roads with several turns and ending on a one lane path with bushes growing right up to the road. Its sketchy when wet and you are a long way from civilization. The hurricane in 2018 pretty much leveled all the trees with the exception of a few. This particular site had 2 trees to give adequate shade, the others had none. The river was browned out from recent rains but some say it gets very clear from all the springs upstream. It was log jammed in several places and cannot be floated.

As of April 2022 this site is OPEN and done with remodeling. There's a nice metal roof shelter with 4 wood posts holding up the structure perfect to hang hammocks, a BBQ grill, fire pit, and picnic table.

Right on the Econfina Creek. Handicap enabled portapotty. Mostly level, couple trees for a hammock or maybe two. Nice gravel road entrance. Directly adjacent to the Florida National Scenic Trail.
