Sequoia National Park's Tunnel Log

Very cute! Looks just like the photos I usually see hehe. Came here mid January so roads were closed off to cars. So was able to walk up and take photos. Which was really nice. May prefer this than when cars are here, I can only imagine how busy it must get. Getting here early morning I noticed much less of a crowd. Later it got into the day the more people came to see it.

One of the best national parks. We came in on a colder day. The weather was perfect if you're dressed well. There was some fog. The parking situation wasn't too difficult, and the hikes were good. Highly recommend it.

Was very dark and cold, no sound in the woods except for the wind rustling against the treetops as the snow continued to come down little by little. It was cold but the serenity of the snow-covered alpine mountainside and the tranquility of being in the dark with nothing but the giant Sequoia’s on a late December night was magical. Of course, make sure to keep up with the weather forecast intermittently before doing something like this. Don’t want to get caught in a blizzard so take precautions.

The Tunnel Log in Sequoia National Park is such a unique and fun experience! Driving through the tunnel carved out of a fallen giant sequoia is like stepping into a postcard moment – it’s both surreal and impressive. The fallen tree itself is massive, and standing next to it really puts the incredible size of these sequoias into perspective. It’s a perfect spot for memorable photos, and kids especially love the novelty of driving under the tree! The whole area around it is beautiful, too, with plenty of other scenic stops nearby. If you’re visiting Sequoia, don’t miss this iconic landmark!

Went there on a wednesday, no lines and perfect weather. I could never imagined how tall and thick the trees were, is mesmerizing. I did the Giant Forest trail, easy to walk and just a couple of meters from the visitor center. Entrance fee was $35 usd.
