Pros, free camping just outside of Tampa with restaurants and shopping within walking distance....cons there's a lot of hwy noise and the marked trails are tough to bike because of sand but there's other trails on the property that you gotta search for. And there is a nice little clear lake right behind our campsite but you also gotta search for the access spot. (Large concrete pad by lake you could rollerskate on) Packed out other people's trash.

I've bin here quite a few times. I love this place. Anything you pretty much need is across the street. Publix, Hair Cuttery, pizza 🍕 😋, liquor. Serenova tract is quiet except street noise from 52. Free and clean. I didn't complain. The ranger? came in to check reservations from everyone. So make sure you get a FREE reservation.

Nice clean, wooded camp ground. Some distant highway noise during peak hours to remind you civilization is near. Miles of wide trails. Short distance to publix and Beef's. Well spaced camping spots. About half full. When I arrived, someone has not cleaned up before leaving. Another reminder that civilization is near. Update: Back at Serenova a year later. Not much has changed. What a great place to camp. I've been all over the state and this is one of the best boondocking sites. No problem with ticks or bugs, shaded with a partial canopy that allows enough light for solar. Clean, spacious with all the modern conveniences a short walk away. This time the non-potable water pump was broken. Hope it's fixed soon. Pit toilet serviceable, but if your skid-ish, Publix is close by. Lots of downed tree branches for a fire. Enough people present to feel safe with being close or crowded. This is a favorite free SWFWMD site.

We love this campground!! You need a free permit that includes the gate code to get in, which gives an added sense of security! Its beautiful, peaceful, has a multitude of walking trails (we even saw some people in wheelchairs), you can ride your bike, we saw several people fishing, riding horses, and there were even a few good solar spots where we were able to get 100% charged!! No potable water and no trash bins, but Publix is literally across the street as well as gas stations and a few eateries! The path in is a little narrow so have your clippers handy just in case and although there are several potholes to avoid, they are manageable! There are fire pits and picnic tables at most spots and there is a pavilion and pit toilet (bring your own tp & hand sanitizer!) We will definitely visit here again!

Great trails, camp sites and fishing area. Took the pups and spent the night. Plenty to see and do. Will definitely return soon.

No signage, super confusing. Park Rangers were rude & drove right past the bags of trash that we the CAMPERS picked up from overflowing receptacles! Had to flag them down&force them to do their job. Road noise all day, no access to river. Tenters reserve primitive sites & then set up in RV spots, no regulation.
