This is a very convenient location to set up for the season and take advantage of its close proximity to Penn State university and the surrounding state parks with thousands of acres to explore and hike. The staff is very friendly and accommodating! They also have a nice campground store incase you forgot something.
We stayed in the tiny house with two bedrooms and a sleeping loft. Everything was very neat and clean, and we found the beds to be especially comfortable. The outdoor space was wonderful with a deck, picnic table, hot tub and fire ring with chairs. It allowed us to be outdoors until late in the evening. The campground is very convenient to State College, the surrounding towns and a variety of activities. This is the second year we have stayed at Seven Mountains, and we plan to visit again next year.
A buddy of mine and I stayed here for a Penn State game. It was a quick 20 minutes from campus. Great service and a well kept campground. However, as others have mentioned, the highway noise was AWFUL. Semi trucks engine braking was just mind blowing in the middle of the night. The campground owners should lobby for a sign banning engine braking on the highway. The bathrooms were also in need of expansion and updating. They were just too small - only one toilet stall in each of the two bathrooms, and only one shower per bathroom. Cramped space in stall and in bathroom in general.
My wife and I had booked a rustic cabin but like everyone now days way too much stuff going on and totally forgot about it when the weekend came, 100% our fault. We called to see if there was anything that could be done and they offered to move our reservation to another weekend, which was so nice of them. We had an awesome stay and was thrilled we didn't miss out on a trip there. Now, we just got back from a second weekend trip there this summer this time in an efficiency cabin and it too was perfect. We love this area and have been camping in the local state parks for years but they are so packed with people. Seven Mountains Campground is clean, quiet and a great location to explore the Bale Eagle State Forest and surrounding areas. Thank you and we can't wait for our next stay there.
This is a nice campsite at the top of a mountain. Very close to lakes, hiking and Penn State. It’s adjacent to the highway and you can hear the traveling vehicles but the access to roads can’t be beat. The site is clean, guests are quiet and respectful and the price is good. Lots of full hookups. We’ll stay again.
We had the best time at the campground this weekend. It was quiet and private. Our 2 bedroom cabin was clean and spacious for our family of 5. The kitchen amenities were perfect and I appriciated the basic inclusions of dish soap, trash bag, paper towels, shampoo/conditioner and hand soap. We have already talked about returning. Your close proximity to Penn State is a real draw for my husband and 3 sons.
Cabins were clean and laid out wonderfully. I also accidentally booked the wrong dates when I originally booked online I called them the next day and they went above and beyond to get me a cabin for the correct days that fit my family’s needs on a busy weekend for them! We appreciate them and will be back during the summer for a vacation!
I would have given it 5 stars but there is no laundry service, and the closest is 30 minutes away. Close to fwy entrance, yet very quiet if you are in back, beautiful setting, lots of trees. They also have cabins for rent and above ground tent camping spots under a roof.
This campground was beautiful, well layed out, super easy reservation and check in! Quiet, everyone was friendly, plenty of common areas to play games. They have all kinds of yard games to play- our family played yard left, right, center, and a fabulous game of Wiffle ball! The grounds were beautiful, It was easy to get self serve wood and ice! Out experience was very lovely. Some of the seasonals were there everyobe was friendly! We will be back!
