This article is crafted with you, our local adventurers, in mind, to provide a detailed and engaging overview of this incredible destination. We'll delve into its prime location, the fantastic amenities it offers, its standout features, and why it consistently ranks as a top choice for families, outdoor enthusiasts, and "weekend warriors" across Pennsylvania.
Seven Points Campground is a prominent feature of the larger Seven Points Recreation Area, which serves as a central hub of activity for Raystown Lake. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, this campground is celebrated for its commitment to maintaining beautiful, well-kept campsites and providing unparalleled access to the largest lake entirely within Pennsylvania. The Point Camp Loop, specifically, is renowned for offering some of the most coveted waterfront sites on Raystown Lake, making it a dream destination for those who wish to wake up to lake views and have direct access to water activities. While it can get "jammed pack with the weekend warriors and pleasure boaters" during peak summer months, especially on weekends, its popularity is a testament to the exceptional experience it provides. Many visitors return year after year, some having made it a multi-generational tradition, highlighting its ability to foster lasting memories and a deep connection with the outdoors. It's a place where the vibrant energy of summer coexists with the tranquility of off-peak seasons, offering a varied experience depending on when you visit.
Seven Points Campground is perfectly situated at 6764 Seven Points Road, Hesston, PA 16647, USA. This address places it in Huntingdon County, within the ridge and valley province of central Pennsylvania. The campground’s location directly on Raystown Lake, between lake markers eight and nine, is a significant advantage, providing campers with immediate access to the lake's vast expanse.
For Pennsylvanians, the accessibility of Seven Points Campground is a key factor in its widespread popularity. From major population centers like Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, or Philadelphia, the drive is manageable, making it an ideal weekend getaway or a longer vacation destination. The routes to Hesston, typically involving state highways like PA 26, are generally well-maintained. Upon arrival, visitors must first check in at the Seven Points Entrance Station (GPS address 6256 Seven Points Road, Hesston, PA). It's crucial to note that reservations are required to occupy a campsite, and advanced booking is highly recommended, especially for those coveted waterfront sites which "get booked months in advance, usually within a few days," and "within minutes" during summer weekends. While the campground feels immersed in nature, it's also conveniently located just about a mile from places to find groceries, bait, tackle, and gas, and the city of Huntingdon (11 miles north) offers more extensive dining and shopping options. This balance of natural seclusion and practical accessibility makes it a premier choice for locals.

Customer Reviews
Our 2nd time here. Just as beautiful as the 1st. Very well maintained campsites. Played 4 rounds of disc golf on the 9 hole course. My 1st time and it was so much fun. Biked all the trails multiple times. Booked a site for 4/25 for our 3rd trip here.
This campground is one of 2 campgrounds on Lake Raystown that has waterfront sites. Those sites get booked months in advance usually within a few days. During the summer months those sites get booked within minutes of becoming available. The summer weekends this place is jammed pack with the weekend warriors and pleasure boaters. If you want to fish be out early and get off the water by 10am. When school is on session it is not bad especially during the weekdays. Picture is a typical Sunday in October.
This is a beautiful park! The trails could be marked a bit better - it could just be my internal compass. With the help of an angel, I found my way back to camp.
Great camp ground. Clean & close bathrooms. Awesome firework show too!
Beautiful campground. Great place to relax. Spot #12 and #57 is really nice.
