Located in Goldsboro, this campground provides a comfortable and accessible base for exploring the local area or simply enjoying a peaceful retreat.

For many North Carolinians, particularly those connected to the military community, finding a reliable and pleasant campground that offers good value is key. Seymour Johnson AFB Campground fits this description perfectly. As one satisfied visitor noted, the camp is "well maintained," providing a positive experience with essential hookups that work "as advertised and without issue." This attention to detail ensures a hassle-free stay, allowing campers to focus on relaxation and enjoyment.

The allure of this FamCamp extends beyond just its practical amenities. It offers a sense of tranquility, tucked away from the direct hustle and bustle of the base, yet close enough to access various support facilities. Whether you're planning a weekend getaway, a stop during a PCS move, or a longer vacation, the Seymour Johnson AFB Campground aims to make your stay as comfortable and cost-effective as possible.

The campground's appeal is further amplified by its setting amidst heavily forested areas. While this provides welcome shade, as noted by a reviewer, it also creates a pleasant, natural ambiance. This environment is perfect for those looking to disconnect from the daily routine and immerse themselves in the quiet beauty of eastern North Carolina. Even for those who might typically rely on solar power or satellite reception, the benefits of shade and a peaceful atmosphere often outweigh these considerations.

In essence, Seymour Johnson AFB Campground is more than just a place to park your RV or pitch a tent; it’s a community-focused facility designed to support military personnel and authorized patrons in their pursuit of outdoor recreation and relaxation. Its commitment to maintenance and providing essential services makes it a reliable and inviting choice for a North Carolina camping experience.

Seymour Johnson AFB Campground is strategically located at the Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Education Center and Library, Goldsboro, NC 27531, USA. Its on-base location is a key factor in its accessibility and the types of services it can offer. For authorized patrons, navigating to the campground is straightforward, typically involving entry through one of the base's gates. While the exact entry requirements for non-military personnel can vary and it is always advisable to confirm access protocols with the base directly, this campground is primarily designed to serve military members, retirees, and their families.

Goldsboro, North Carolina, itself is situated in the central-eastern part of the state, making the campground a convenient stopover or destination for those traveling along the I-95 corridor or exploring the broader eastern North Carolina region. The base is well-connected to major roads, ensuring an easy drive for those arriving with recreational vehicles or tow vehicles. The address provided, while specifically for the Education Center and Library, serves as a central point for base access, and detailed directions to the FamCamp itself would be provided upon reservation or entry.

One of the significant advantages of its on-base location is the proximity to various base amenities, which enhances the overall convenience for campers. While the campground itself offers a tranquil escape, the nearby facilities on Seymour Johnson AFB provide additional resources within a short drive or even walking distance. This combination of a quiet camping environment and access to base services offers a unique blend of convenience and outdoor enjoyment.

For North Carolina residents who are authorized to use military facilities, this location presents an excellent opportunity for a local getaway that is both secure and well-supported. The paved bike trails throughout the base, as mentioned in a review, also add to the accessibility, allowing campers to explore the base environment on two wheels.

My wife and I stayed at the Seymour Johnson AFB Famcamp during the 4th of July weekend. We found the camp to be well maintained. We stayed on site 14 which had enough room for our 30’ travel trailer and our Ram 1500 tow vehicle. All the hookups worked as advertised and without issue. The sites are well shaded which we enjoyed but if you have to rely on solar or satellite, this camp may not work for you. Overall, our experience was a positive one and we are likely to visit again as we have family in the area.

Arrived before noon to self check-in system using a map with our site number. The grass and weeds were over 2 feet tall. No campfires allowed. For the low cost, it was sufficient. Nice paved bike trails throughout the base.

Wanted to stay at this Fam Camp to visit my son before continuing south. We were very concerned about the stay process because they did not take reservations. Well they do now!!!!! Four days before leaving Pennsylvania to head south, I looked on their website and found a reservation request form. I completed the form and the next business day, the Rec Center called me to confirm my stay. We are staying in site 20 with our fifth wheel and the site is a long concrete pad with full hookups. The site is woodsy. The morning Reveille makes me proud to be an American. This is a great service that AFB's provide!!!!
