Shade Valley Camp Resort

Sturgis 2024 was a success and part of this was due to our great experience at Shade Valley. The service was fantastic with everyone we came across. The cabins are very basic and pretty expensive, but served their purpose. The bathrooms & shower houses were accessible and clean. The location is a ways out of town but that allows for a quite campground. I prefer to go to the party as opposed to have it where i want to sleep. They had music each night and have a great set up. My only request would be to have wine available! Thanks again guys!

As far as a campground, it has flat sites, very open with plenty of space (and pretty empty) to drive an rv into. I've been to a half dozen Sturgis rallies and this is the third different campground. Compared to the other campgrounds this has to be the least favorite of the three. For one the men's shower/bathhouse (comfort station) was not regularly cleaned and stocked. One toilet was clogged up for several days, one didn't have tp for five straight days till this review and the same filthy floors all week. Good thing I bring my own tp. In addition no paper towels. If you decide to eat breakfast at the campground, a group of four will easily drop well over $50 to start your day. One night I purchased two shots and two beers at the Eye Candy Saloon and was hit with a $33 bill. In Deadwood I ordered three beers (an IPA and two Ultras) and three shots (whiskys and a Screwball) for $36. There are no laundry facilities nor laundry service. The location was approximately 7 miles from the Buffalo Chip, so you had to make the dreaded gauntlet ride outside of town passing the pulled over bikers and cars hoping you don't get caught doing 36 mph in a 35. My favorite campground cleans all the shower/bathhouse facilities at noon. They have a laundry service, you drop off by noon and pick up after 5. Although they didn't have a liquor license, they had ipa on tap for $4 and $3 buzzballs. However My biggest disappointment was being hit with a $250 apiece armband charge when we were assured the pre-rally rate wouldn't change. It did. And don't think you can bring your own beverages to watch the band.

Went in 2022. This place has everything you could want except the chaos on the main drag in Sturgis. Minutes away from Buffalo Chip and Full Throttle Saloon.

This was our first time to Shade Valley and also to Sturgis. The property was very spacious, clean, and the staff was amazing. We didn’t have to wait to do laundry since they had an amazing woman named Amy who took care of it for us. The food was great and well priced. The music was great and we will definitely be back next year.

First time here and last for Sturgis Rally, the camping was quiet and that's all they really had to offer. Camping Site was $600 just for space, $225 each person for wrist band with no amenities. Music was no name and horrible. I would NOT recommend this place if going for Rally. Spent over $1000 just to sleep. Full Throttle for us next time around loved that place.
