Customer Reviews
Needed a spot to overnight. Called with 1hr notice and they were able to get me checked in that evening. Host met me at the gate and took me to my spot, showed me the hookups. Small & quiet, tucked away. Easy access in & out. Glad I stopped here and found camp for future trips through the area.
Love it there. The management team are super and the park is well maintained. Quiet and peaceful. They are dog friendly as well
As of March 2024 the website failed to mention there's no restroom or shower facility (a personal deal breaker). The dirt road has such poor rainwater drainage the host saw fit to offer guidance on navigating through. On the plus side, the camping fee is competitive with state parks, and the host is accommodating (I was unable to stay, and my pre-pmt was refunded).
We recently stayed at Shady Oaks and enjoyed our stay. We were looking for a nice quiet place to spend the evening, and we got exactly that. The campground was not far from the main highway, but it was secluded and very quiet and peaceful. We stayed in one of the cabins available; it was very nice. Solid construction, a/c and heat, a trundle bed, and portable toilet... everything was clean and well maintained. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We definitely recommend Shady Oaks for anyone camping!
We have been staying at Shady Oaks for almost a year . Brett and Theresa are awesome hosts and are always on hand to lend a hand if needed . We are mainly weekenders and I would say we absolutely love it . The full time residents we have made friends with are fantastic good hearted people . It is a great location for hunters or fishermen coming into cedar key . The camp ground I would say maybe does not have “ kid” activities however there are/ were kids in some of the campers . We have been very very pleased with our experiences here and would highly recommend . The people here are honest, friendly and good heart. 5 stars for sure
What a great spot!!! So quiet and natural! Being new to RV life we were so happy to find this gem!!! The family that runs it is fantastic! Janelle helped us on the phone and her son in law Bobby helped us so much! Even called after we left to tell us we left our water pressure regulator!! 🙄 So grateful!! 🥰 Thanks again will definitely be back! Our little bird enjoyed listening to and communing with other birds in such an amazing atmosphere... Lovely to see such a natural space instead of concrete.... Loved it!!!
