ShangriLa Campground & Marina Found this beautiful, quaint spot while adventuring through New York, from Ontario, Canada. Marge, the manager was eager to greet and show off the amazing transformation of ShangriLa. Wonderfully spirited, full of humour, quick witted and down to earth, Marge was definitely the hostess with the mostest!!!! As the first, to stay in the new air bnb, I must say, it was beautiful, more than adequately stocked, comfortable, very clean and had a serene feeling. Kayaking along the shore of the bay, came next. Beautiful, clear water and many areas to treasure hunt along the shorelines. The plan for dinner was to barbecue chicken and make a salad, but the life of the newly re-opened restaurant was irresistible! Greeted by friendly staff, and easily chatting with many of the local people, I devoured the best traditional Clubhouse sandwiche I have had in years!! (And I am super picky with my food!) P.S. the restaurant IS licensed!! Lovely local people were so friendly and welcoming!! Thank you so much to Chris, Erin, Tito, Taylor, Jim, the handful of others I had the pleasure of meeting, and of coarse Marge, for making the stay perfect!!! I am happy to report that I have already pre-booked 2 weeks for next year!! Now…if I didn’t leave a note regarding possible changes I would make, the general population would think my review is fake, so here’s my constructive criticism…. - A beach was not listed; however, there are places to swim. It is not sand covered access, but rocks. Water shoes are not required, as the rocks are very rounded. - A dock for jumping into the water would be fantastic for kids - A volleyball and/or court area would be fabulous for families with teenagers - Treats!! Ice cream, chocolate bars, chips and light snack foods would probably be a great add, for children who want a treat, and adults who forgot late night snacks!!! - The sale of ice, firewood, and bug spray - Wifi is definitely needed for the newer generation of kids In saying all of this, it’s actually more business suggestions than criticism. Opening a business and completely re-doing it takes time, and prioritizing tasks is a must. Already, ShangriLa is wonderful. As I said, I’ve already booked my two weeks for next summer!! Jennifer N.
Awesome bar and grill to cruise over to on the boat. They offer an extensive menu and drink selection with good prices. The atmosphere is awesome much like an old diner. There's also a large outdoor patio to sit on and enjoy the weather
We ordered pizza and wings and loved it! We are from WNY and we were not disappointed! Bonus for the wings being served with blue cheese as the default. Great prices, yummy food. The French onion soup was good too after a day of summer rain.
I am so happy to see this great place up and running again. We have come there for 20 plus years and our grown sons have even came back with their families. You have done some increible changes to the place and I was a fan then and I am a fan now..I am sad to see the negative comments on here as I am sure you work very hard to please people and are new at this, plus no one wants to work anymore and the ones that do are very energetic. Kudos to you for making this great place come alive again. We will be back next year and you will know when we are there as we are a great crew and we have a ball...So I guess what I am trying to say is give them a chance to figure it out and stop being a Debbie downer...See you next summer and Joan would be happy!
Went to the soft opening with my 4 year old and it was delicious. The waitresses were very nice. It is great to see a local hot spot open again.
