This is a wonderful place to camp! If work did not get in the way I would live here for the whole 6 months they were opened! There are lots of kids events, family events, adult events, dances, bands, crafts, bingo, etc. Pictures are of the lake and some of the recent events. The bad reviews are all nonsense. If you notice they were all just recently posted by people who were asked to leave the campground.

We have been coming to this campground for almost 15 years and can’t say enough great things about it! My kids LOVE fishing and swimming in the pool. They enjoy the dances and all the different activities that are offered. Shawnee lake is a place where i feel comfortable letting my kids play and explore on their own. The staff is great and always helpful. If you are looking for a great and safe place to camp, this is it!

I've been camping at Shawnee since 2017. I left the campground where I was because after gaining custody of my grandson I wanted a more family friendly place. We love the fishing, the pool, the game room, and the play ground is HUGE. We enjoy several of the events for both the children and adults. I feel at ease allowing my grandchildren to run around the park just knowing that everyone is helping keep an eye on them. Our new grandbabies enjoy the pool. It is awesome just sitting on the in water benches watching them enjoy life. I've met many life long friends at Shawnee. I love camping at there and as long as I can remember the staff/owners have been phenomenal. After removing a few bad apples the atmosphere at Shawnee has definitely been less stressful and more enjoyable.

There was once a time that it used to be a nice place to camp but that is no longer the case. They just do not care about their campers. They care only about money. The lake is like a swamp, they play favorites to the drama starters in the park. You can’t say anything in private to the office because Mary will run and tell everyone everything that you said and even tell them who said it. This is a very gossipy place and this causes a lot of hostility. Beth the woman that calls Bingo is mean and nasty and acts like she owns the place. This place is very clicky and if you are smart you will stay far far away. The only thing this place has going for them is the swimming pool and they can’t ever get that right either as it’s swarming with bees and half the time they are too cheap to even run the heat when it’s cold so the pool is freezing most of the time. The electric bill monthly is outrageous. We paid more here than we did at home and we were only here on the weekends. The maintenance guy Brian thinks he is just so intimidating and he’s full of himself and is only there because he’s married into the family so he needs to stop being such a jerk!

Camped here for almost 8 seasons. If your looking for a lot of drama and management that you can't trust then this is the place for you. They don't care about their campers. They care only about making money. Prices go up annually and they do less and less for their campers. They consider new rocks an upgrade and the small lake is more like a swamp.
