The Sheep Creek Boat Launch Area had a $5 day fee to park and kayak/boat here (boats are inspected here). This area was dog friendly. Many people were fishing near the shore. There is a bathroom and a large parking lot.
The people with big boats and trucks didn't seem to like the fact that a canoe was taking up a spot at the launch but we didn't stay any longer than expected. This is a great place to put in and see some awesome sights. The thing that amazed me most was that the pit toilet bathrooms smelled good inside. Whoever cleans those things did an awesome job. My only frustration was the payment process. I think they need to empty the $ slot more often. I had to force my envelope in with a stick.
Great place to get on/off the boat. There’s no check in station, but sometimes there is someone sitting there asking about paperwork. There’s good parking here and it wasn’t crowded. We got on/off pretty quickly. It’s a nice quick access to the river, yet no amenities.
Good for boats but not camping swimming or anything else. We were told it was a good swim spot. Smells like gasoline, obviously since it’s a boat launch. Trash around. Lots of flies on beach area left, behind launch. Gorgeous though and easy to find but very practical location for water craft of any kind
