A beautiful free campground on a lovely, much appreciated (and rare to find) paved road. A large open area for multiple rigs of any size and then more pull off areas further up the road. I was fortunate enough to park next to the one tiny shade tree so it wasn't even horrible in late August. Finally, a 2wd friendly free dispersed camping area that you don't have to ruin your suspension to get to. I remember when 40% of these campgrounds were free and now $24 gets you a no water campground with a dirty pit toilet. There really needs to be more areas like this.. our National forests should be accessible to all people .. even us 2wd low clearance low budget people .. I very much miss the National forests I used to know and hope that these overpriced gocamputah places will at some point lower their rediculous rates. This public land doesn't seem to be as public as much anymore. Thankful for this place !
This is a rustic, natural area. There are no campsites. Camp where you can. Park a respectful distance from other campers. There were campers, fifth wheels. Uneven landscape. Mainly ATVs and hunters in early November. Beautiful sunset.
This place is amazing! Quiet with amazing views and sunsets. Any size rig can get in here, even if it’s low clearance. If it rains a lot it would probably be tough to get traction unless you park on the roads, they have gravel.
Great spot for quick overnight camping on a road trip. Easy access. It's basically a big open field. Don't expect much privacy, and there were people coming in pretty late, so early plugs are a good idea if you're just camping in a tent like we were.
Peaceful Beautiful Majestic First time and hopefully will be more visits
Easy to access dispersed camping site. There are no pit toilets or garbage cans, so be sure to plan ahead! Ladies, the privacy is pretty limited, so if you're tent camping or car camping, just make sure the vehicle is angled correctly. It drops down on the fence line, but that's about the only privacy. It's a large area, so there's plenty of room to get as far from neighbors as you'd like. Aside from a dog barking in the little neighborhood across the main highway, there were no nighttime noises. We had a neighbor playing music earlier in the evening but came over to talk to us to see if we wanted him to turn it down.
Great views and lots of room. 3 other RVs here tonight and plenty room for more. Free means no pit toilets of course, but were in an RV on our way to Arches National Park, so perfect stop before that.
Beautiful landscape? YES. Plenty of room for camping? YES. Big ol' Dog runnin round? YES. Sheep? NO. Not a judgment just a fact. Please clean up the fire pit if you threw plastic in it. It's bad for mother earth and for your lungs. Burning plastic is the new smoking. And so is sitting. Thanks you.
So peaceful! But no sheep and no creek. Lol. We loved this place
