Absolutely terrific! We stayed in the tent camping area with a group of friends and everyone had a great time. We swam, did paddle boats, fished, mini golf, made tie die t-shirts, shopped the camp store, and ate ice cream. All around a fantastic place to enjoy a weekend away. The amenities are top notch. Bathrooms were very clean, and staff was both friendly and helpful.
Awesome campground but could be amazing. The pedal carts, volleyball/shuffleboard area needs some TLC and the lake gazebo is long overdue for a power wash. The shower house on the newer side of the facility is the nicest I've ever seen. The pool and splash pad is also very nice. Staff were pleasant and helpful.
How hard is it to clean the showers? I mean like bleach and scrub brush ran over floor and walls to keep mold and slime at bay? Hair wiped on walls and shampoo and conditioner splattered all over and not cleaned. Fire engine ride was super fun for the children, because they weren’t looking at the animal poop on the floor. Again how hard is it to take a peek when you pull it out of barn and sweep it out? Those should be easy fixes. Everyone rides their gulf carts around drinking all day long, adults at children activities alcohol in hand.
The campground is in the middle of a corn field, but it was very nice. We had terrible weather and being in the field didn't help, but the staff was amazing. The grounds were very clean & well maintained. It's definitely worth the visit! Store had quite an assortment of items available with the Wagon Wheel Kafé to grab a quick bite to go or site down to enjoy.
We stayed at the KOA in Shelby 4 nights on site A01 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The sites are large and well maintained. The staff in the office and on the grounds were very nice and helpful. There are a lot of activities available, however we were unable to take advantage of them due to the weather. We will stay here again.
