Customer Reviews
Great place to camp overnight along the shell river. Not too far from south twin lake, definitely navigable in just a few hours. Great place to camp overnight for a shell river and crow wing river canoe trip
Beautiful spot. Canoeing on the river was serene. Saw an otter, baby ducks, and lots of shells in the shallow river bed. Fellow campers were respectful and quiet. Enjoyed meeting the Water Protectors who were very welcoming and took time to educate us about the local ecology. They were also taking wonderful care of the park. Heartbreaking to see what Enbridge is doing to harm the area.
Very rustic (I like that), lots of poison ivy in the camp sites. Always busy on weekends. No reservations on camp sites , unless your a protester. ( I don't like that)
We've been going there for about 3 years now, it's a nice campground even though it would be nice if you could reserve spots. The river access brings some through traffic for people landing or docking their kayak and this year the current was especially strong and deep in some areas. The restrooms weren't the best, but when you're camping what can you expect? Holds lots of sentimental value!
Be great for small campers and tenters. Larger rigs best try Tree Farm or one of the trailheads.
