Shell Island Fish Camp

We had the pleasure of staying for a few days, for the first time around the 1st of August. I've stayed at a few fish camps in my time, and Shell Island did not disappoint. In fact, it might of been a little to nice to be called a "fish camp". I mean, they had enough parts in the store to build a boat just about. The docks were well maintained and not falling apart, they even gave us advice on where to fish and scallop. The cabins were well stocked and the shower had good water pressure. Only complaint i can really muster up is we didn't get to spend a little more time with the owners because they were busy making even more improvements to the place. You can definitely tell they care about their place and their customers. If you want the Concierge Service to take your cooler from your room to the boat for you and make sure it's full of drinks and snacks, this probably isn't the place for you. If you want a nice family atmosphere to stage your family adventures from, go check em out.

I have had the opportunity along with my and and friends to stay at Shell Island fish camp several times. Great fish camp, Drop boat in water place to dock, get your supplies, bait, ice. After a great day fishing, come in and just a short walk to your room. Jeff Horne and family along their staff are always friendly, helpful. Have had some great fishing conversations on the porch. When I travel to St Marks ,Shell Island is the only place to stay! Looking forward to the next trip! I am sure leaving out numerous things!

This place is a piece of heaven on earth. They are some of the most amazing host. They welcome you with open arms. Great place to stay and an amazing place to fish. They have events frequently. Bait shop and all. I highly recommend go and reserve your room and if you don’t have a boat that is fine they have charters and much more. Don’t miss out on this amazing chance.

I have been coming to St Marks for over 25 years back when Allen was the owner. You guys have made some vast improvements since buying the place. You and your staff are so friendly and make us feel like part of the family. This is my son and 2 grandson’s favorite place to come fish. I am trying to enclose a picture of my grandson’s first trip some 20 years ago. People have to realize this is a fish camp and not a Ritz Carlton. I decided to add an update photo

Been coming here for many years, started with my grandfather. The Horne's are the third owners i have known and the improvements they have made have been great without changing the relaxing atmosphere. The staff are friendly and super helpful when visiting, they truly make you feel like family. Can't wait until my next group trip down.
