This is a great new RV park. We travel full time and have a very large fifth wheel (43 feet with dually truck) and we are always cautious of little parks in rural areas because you just never know what to expect. We booked based upon the positive reviews and photos and we are so glad we did! The spots are big enough for any sized rig (big rig and bus friendly). While it’s a small park, the roads are set up to accommodate larger rigs needing space to maneuver around. Sites are long and wide and have full hookups. Roads and sites are gravel, but it’s well packed small gravel (not very dusty and not ankle twister gravel which we appreciate). We had site 15 which was an upgraded space with solar lights and a waterfront (pond and ducks) view. Site also had picnic table, wooden Adirondack chairs facing a fire pit (with firewood included) and a bbq. Good water pressure, sewer hookups done correctly and at the right height. Quiet and the owner takes pride in the upkeep of the park. No long hanging trees or branches to worry about and easy road signage for entrance. It’s right off of a highway with some road noise but nothing that should deter you away, it’s a beautiful wooded setting with a Dollar General within walking distance and close to Cedar Run Lake and Daniel Boone National Forest. They also have cabins you can rent. No amenities or clubhouse so you get the quiet small town RV park feel, but it’s also well done, well maintained and has an upscale feel without being a fancy corporate resort. Highly recommend this park.
Wonderful spot! Beautiful grounds, quiet but close to highway, nice amount of space on the sites and beautiful water views! Tripp (owner) was awesome with accommodating us last minute all by text. Would definitely visit again!
Absolutely beautiful new park! Super friendly owner and very accommodating with our special request. Very quiet and you feel secluded in your RV site, they are spaced wonderfully so that you are not right on top of your neighbor. We hope to return sometime in the future.
We stayed in our camper at Sheltowee RV park for 7 months while my husband was working in the area. It’s a beautiful and peaceful campground. Each lot has a picnic table and fire ring. They do provide firewood which is nice. The wifi is decent. There are also communal fire pit areas. We also rented a cabin for a weekend for our kids that came in to visit. The cabins are tiny but have a washer and dryer which is nice. There aren’t a lot of amenities for the campground. There’s no dumpster (they pick up your trash daily at 10am). There’s no laundry or club house on site. The entire property is grass or gravel so not conducive to bike riding; the gravel is only about a quarter mile loop. But I did enjoy morning walks through the park. It is dog friendly. There are two ponds that we saw people fishing in…not sure if they caught anything. The rates were high comparable to other campgrounds with much more to offer for amenities and area attractions. But it is a beautiful spot outside of town for a quiet place to stay.
Campground was very nice and well maintained. Very quiet. The owner came and greeted us and was very friendly and informative. The only thing I would have liked to see would be a shower house and a couple of trash cans around the grounds. But the owner looks to still be making new sites and improvements.
