Went to the Christmas Light Show, and it was great. Very well done, and the lights were perfectly displayed. My wife had the cider, and I had coffee. There were also some cookies there. The garden house was the center point and very nicely decorated. The workers were very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the family.
Shore Acres is beautiful in all seasons. They plant such a variety that spring, summer and fall you can find different blooms, they maintain the gardens so well and the holiday lights are spectacular from Thanksgiving to New Year's Eve. We love having this to enjoy.
I came here to see if I could gaze upon some whales being the end of December and all, but the water was too choppy. The Christmas lights were still up in the garden, and that was super cool to see. Went down to the beach and contemplated the life of a sea anemone and then stood at the overlook while my eyes watered from the wind desperately, looking through my binoculars to spot whale breath or massive fin but found nothing. What a great day.
A beautiful litte place with a rich history. Ample parking that used to require only a fee, however now also requires reservations. The gardens are quite impressive and the setting in picturesque. The put millions of strand of lights with movement themes and excellent placement in the month leading up to Christmas. The little beach down the trail at the base of the property is magical. Also just down the road are beautiful campgrounds a stones throw from an elephant seal mating ground of which you can hear the cries and sounding of the wildlife from quite a distance in a calm day. 9/10 before the requirements of reservation, 6/10 after being turned around after a two hour round trip. Not too cool Oregon state parks, not too cool
Great park with several others nearby. This one has a great observation building to view the ocean and fabulous gardens including rose gardens, a Japanese garden, and numerous flower beds. Make sure to stop at nearby Simpson Reef to see the seals and sea lions. (Bring binoculars for the best viewing.)
