Stayed on the bar upstream in mid August. The biting flies were horrible, hundreds of them swarming us and our camper. I assume this was from the penned elk that were across the road. The site is beautiful other than that and easy to access!
Well maintained restrooms. Nice swimming beach, and a smooth boat launch.
I just loved this place where I camped for free along the magnificent and dramatic Salmon River. I'll come back if in this area again.
Quite a bit of open beach here for camping, fires ONLY allowed in firepans and the few developed pits. there is a table here and bathrooms as well. A great spot to launch your boats to hit a few extra waves before timezone. also decent fishing here and you will find lots of other campers during the busy times of the year. There is very little firewood available here. Other areas offer more beach access via vehicles.
Camping was free...bathroom was a very clean and well maintained pit toilet
Very nice campground next to the river. No one there.
