What a great place... I love everything about this place.. nice campground with fire pit and clean restrooms and showers... And the lake is just a walk away across the street...
Nothing fancy....scenery around the "lake" is plain. Supposedly a decent fishing lake, but we struck out and didn't see anyone else catching. Will have to come back to give it a second try another day. We did love the fish cleaning station. Cleaned our catch from Fool Hollow! Super easy and efficient.
Such a beautiful lake camping right next to the water was wonderful and being able to park right next to your tent was perfect !! Devon was such a nice host If you’re looking for a place just to chill it’s pretty nice, You have restaurants and stores pretty close by That could be positive or negative just depends on the person and what you’re looking for
It's a nice campground. Not real good for fishing right now. Lake levels low. I'm handicapped I struggled quite a bit. No campfires either.
As far as location goes, this was the worst family vacation spot we've ever been to. We reserved 2 camping spots, near the day use area and a restroom. When we got there the lake was being drained, the restrooms were still under construction and we were stuck with porta potties or driving to the main campus. When we spoke to the concession store they said that none of that information was listed on the website because the bathroom was supposed to be done. The only thing they offered to make it right was to move us onto the main campus for the bathroom, after we already set up our entire camp with 4 children. They also don't have anything listed about the lake being drained on their website. There were so many upset campers and so many people that left early. They let everyone reserve spots without giving them full disclosure on what was going on. It's false advertisement and very bad customer service. I felt so robbed, paying $300 to camp where no trash or dog poop is picked up and has zero amenities. DON'T CAMP HERE!
Great location right by the lake made for a good camping trip overall (4/5 stars). However, the dirty men's toilets and zero supply of essentials like soap and paper towels were a downside that need to be addressed. Come for the scenery and beautiful camping sites, but be prepared for the restroom situation.
Since the drained the lake to do repairs the water level is so low it's not very appealing to want to fish or even cruise the water. It's a shame .
