Stopped by to stretch our legs on a drive home from Sacramento to Salinas. We couldn’t have imagined how large this park was. Plenty of space in a Sunday afternoon to grill, have a birthday party, exercise, or just take a leisurely stroll. There are ducks and geese all over the lake. There was an advertisement for paddle boats, but we didn’t see any in use. $6 for parking didn’t break the bank. We really joyed the tranquility.
Has a lot of potential. Nice variety of trees. Deserves more resources towards landscaping, pond/lake cleaning, humane population control of geese & ducks. Overall it's a nice, much needed park for the community.
We held my daughter’s first birthday party in their BOATHOUSE this past Sunday. We arrived at eight to set up for the party and noticed a mice in the storage room while the park employee was giving us instructions. He brushed it off and continued on. We mentioned it again and he brushed it off. Later during the party the mice came out and went straight to the kitchenette and into our food. It caused so much trouble and was so chaotic. The guest as myself were freaking out. At that point we seen an employee and informed him. He advised us that this was an on going issue and he would put traps out the following day. The employee was kind enough to find four traps and set them out during the party. and trapped one. Throughout the party the mice was in and out. We also seen a few rats as big as a soda can outside on the deck. We got in contact with the administrators office the following day and spoke to Sandy who stated the day before they had an event and they seen a mice however, it never came out and they had food. I informed her I had pictures for proof. Per Sandy they came to a conclusion that there would be no reimbursement due to it being a park and the setting. A simply apology or some kind of reimbursement as little as $50.00 would have been really appreciated.
Beautiful and peaceful during the weekday. Love taking my dogs.Just be careful if you take your dogs. Found some old fishing hooks around the lake that my dog was stepping on.
This park was a lot of fun for kids. There's a children's playground, a museum of nature and history and the restroom is conveniently located near the museum and entrance. There are plenty of picnic tables and park benches for everyone.
