Customer Reviews
This camp ground is owned by the same folks who own Pink Mountain Campground where we had a reservation. When we checked in, they asked if we would like to switch to this camp ground and be closer to water. Sure, not an issue but I had forgotten this camp ground is powered by a large industrial generator running 24/7. Now, I sat outside for several hours and the generator was just a low hum and didn't bother me. They have a toilet/shower/laundry trailer. Washers are $5 and drying $3 but they are not coin operated. You pay the nice lady in the store and she gives you the key. They do have Internet but she wasn't sure if we could reach it from our site - we were midway between sites 1 and 10. Had starlink so wasn't even going to try to connect to the local wifi. The store is ok but if you really need something, shop at the store at Pink Mountain. A couple of really negative things and the reason for our two star rating; strong and consistent smell of sewer. Not sure where it's coming from but it was a constant smell and when the wind blew it was worse. I don't know if their septic field is breached or what but there is exposed sewer somewhere on the property. The second is the amount of junk for the lack of a better word. We saw a discarded over the cab truck camper, three modular homes that are decaying, and a former outhouse and various discarded picnic tables. If you need a place to stay, just a few miles further North is the Historic Bucking Horse River Lodge. They have fuel and a restaurant which we ate at and it was great. Their RV section looked very nice.
My new favourite place to camp with my family. Love the rustic feel of the cabins and especially the sound of the rushing river. Staff are amazing and love the fact there's no cell service. In this time and age I love how Sikkanni has VHS movies only. I even found my favorite cartoon. Land Before Time which I plan to watch with little girl this weekend.
One of the hidden gems along the Al-Can is this beautiful campground. $20 and you get a tent or camper site and use of the showers and restrooms on the property. Towards the backside of the campground is the old bridge that burned and some logging trails. Firewood is available for $5.
Lovely stop by the river. Full hookup, pullthru level site with picnic table. Dog friedly. Close together, but plenty of room for slides. Bathrooms and showers were clean. Hot water for showers on meter $1.00 CAD for 3 minutes. Laundy available but did not use it. Dump station and potable water available. We stayed here in a motorhome with a tow vehicle and did not have to unhitch. Very friendly staff.
The lady who owns the campsite is lovely . Showers and toilet clean. However, men’s washroom toilet not working and turned off the water to it there should be a sign advising. Shower’s are $2 for 3 minutes but go on much longer which is nice. The campsite itself is like a bulldozer construction site when dry. When it’s wet, it turns into a complete mud pit . A layer of crushed rock would make a world of difference and at $50 a night for a full hook up it would be expected The campsite has so much potential it’s a lovely setting right next to the river. And there is free laundry, which is so much appreciated when travelling. Overall a two star because of the issues, but has potential to be a four star with a couple of adjustments
