Customer Reviews
Thanks for another great week! This was our third year here and even though there was a wildfire down the road, we still had fun! The campground was pretty much empty but William (their maintenance man), kept the water on and went out of his way to check on us during our stay! Campground is clean and you can’t beat being as close to the lake as you are. Looking forward to seeing you next year!
We stayed at Silverbeach in our camper at site 10 and it was the perfect spot for our first time using our camper. The grounds were well maintained and clean. We forgot matches and the groundskeeper was super helpful in getting our fire started. The housekeeper was extremely friendly and even took time to show me the inside of the cabins (I want to rent one for my parents to go with us). This will definitely be a spot we will return to and would recommend.
We attended a family reunion at Silver Beach Resort and while the campground itself was great and pretty clean, the travel trailer we rented ( booked a year ago) was not as described and was not equipped as described. It was described to have room for 6 people with two pullout futon style beds along with a queen bed. The two futons were very delapatated and worn out and you couldn't even sit comfortably on one of them. The other was so stained up and couldn't be folded out into a bed because it had a window air conditioner stuck ( loose) in the window and was being supported on the back of this futon. It was not even fastened into the window. There were no bedding available for these futons and there was a mouse in a trap under the sink that smelled as if it had been there for a while. The queen bed had bedding but it was sooo hard that you could not sleep on it. We had booked this trailer for 2 nights but due to the things mentioned we could not stay the second night. We literally only got maybe 3 hours of sleep because it was so uncomfortable. Other members of our family reunion had similar issues. Some had no hot water and the air conditioner didn't work. (100 degree weather) The food at the restaurant was so bad they could not eat it at all. They were charged more money then when they booked a year ago. Apparently there is a new owner and that owner is not accepting the pricing of the old owner and making people pay the extra tacked on price for these run down and not maintained trailers and cabins. We cannot give this Resort a very high rating. We stayed there a few years ago and it was quite different then. It was nice and we had no complaints at that time. But unfortunately they have lost us as customers.
My family and I stayed in cabin #4 for one night and had a good time. Pros: Beautiful views, friendly service, quality price, clean cabin, everything was in working order (water, electricity, appliances), and I loved how they provide basic kitchenware. Cons: The cabin we stayed at was a little too close to the road so quite noisy. The cabin was very clean however you can tell it needs some updates and repairs. All of the RV spots were too close to each other and it felt crammed. There were some abandoned and rundown cabins near Cabin #4. The boating dock seemed in need of repair also with some broken planks. We did have an unpleasant experience with one of the other patrons who came out of her RV to yell at our kids because they were near an abandoned cabin. I do my absolute best to watch my kids so I know they may have been there for less than 5mins while I was grilling. She said something along the lines of “get away from there, you don’t belong there”. I understand the need to say something but as an adult know how to communicate to children without yelling.
The view here is beautiful unfortunately the camp site was a little bit of a let down. The camp sites are pretty close together so if you are looking for more secluded spots this is not the place for you. This place could be really great if some more time and attention was placed on the tidiest of the grounds. The bathrooms were pretty dirty and weren’t ever clean during our 4 night stay and the garbages were over flowing. Side note: if you have a vintage trailer you need to have a plug adapter for this campground. We did not know this and showed up without one in our 1967 trailer and had to drive 30 min away to buy one. When we asked the office if they had any adapters they were all out.
