Perfect camping spot in maroon bell region : The campground is clean and surrounded by nature. I reserved site 6, which is available on a first-come, first-served basis. It features a clean pit toilet and a trash dumpster nearby. Site 6 is the closest to the restroom, directly across from the campsite. The location is near the White River water channel, and the sound of the water helped me sleep. The trees around site 6 provide shade during the day, keeping the tent cooler. Site 6 also has one parking space. Additionally, the Maroon Bells attraction is easily accessible from this campsite without needing a timed entry.Do not expect much cell phone connectivity, I got little less connectivity to cellular service.T mobile have one line of signal strength and LTE connection.
Great Campground with a bit of thrill involved getting a site. If you dont reserve months in advance you risk the rush at 5pm to reserve one of the walk up spots. Go during the week if possible. Every site has bear boxes for your food, which is nice. Extremely clean bathrooms but no running water, no electricity. Paved road until the campground itself, manageable by any automobile. Ideal car camping experience with close proximity to the real attraction, Maroon Bells.
Great sites with clean facilities but the views of the Maroon Bells are spectacular and thats what it's all about. Easy drive into Aspen or Snowmass plus it's nice if you have a campsite you get a pass so you can drive to the parking lot and not have to take the shuttle.
This is one beautiful place. There is only one horrible issue- the massive amount of people. The highway is only 100 feet or so away from the campground, so it's like camping at a rest stop on the side of the interstate. If you were to visit this place at a time of year when it's not busy, it would be truly magical. Like I said-beautiful place, just very, very crowded.
Solid campground. I’d try to avoid staying in the campgrounds near the restroom as the stench carried at times. Drinking water and restrooms available but nowhere to wash dishes or bathe unless you want to brave the creek water. Tent pads were great. Pit fire ban during our stay. Each pad has a spacious bear bin and picnic table. Walk in pads are available for reservation at 9 am on the day of (not earlier).
