Silver Creek (North and South) Introduce

Silver Creek Campground, nestled in the picturesque town of Carey, Idaho, offers a unique camping experience that combines natural beauty with modern convenience. Located along the banks of the serene Silver Creek, this charming campground provides a peaceful retreat for travelers seeking adventure and relaxation. With two distinct locations—North and South sites—Silver Creek Campground caters to a variety of camping preferences, ensuring a memorable stay for everyone.

The North site features one spacious campsite, while the South site offers two campsites, each designed to accommodate tents and RVs comfortably. Both sites are equipped with new, clean vault toilets, providing essential amenities without compromising the natural surroundings. The access roads are well-maintained gravel paths, suitable for all weather conditions, ensuring easy access even during inclement seasons.

What sets Silver Creek Campground apart is its commitment to preserving the natural environment while offering modern comforts. Each campsite boasts shaded canopies over tables, providing welcome shade from the sun. The tent platforms are unusually high, filled with gravel for excellent drainage, making them ideal for camping in varying weather conditions. The campsites are free, adding to the affordability of this hidden gem.

Nature lovers will appreciate the open sagebrush and scattered junipers that surround the campground, creating a landscape that feels untouched by time. The proximity to Silver Creek adds to the charm, offering campers a chance to enjoy the gentle flow of the stream and the wildlife it attracts. For those who love photography or simply soaking in nature’s beauty, the serene setting is nothing short of magical.

One of the standout features of Silver Creek Campground is its excellent cell service, supporting both Verizon and TMobile networks. This ensures that guests can stay connected with friends and family while enjoying the great outdoors. However, visitors are encouraged to leave their phones behind or use them sparingly to fully immerse in nature.

Customer feedback highlights the campground’s strengths and areas for improvement. Many guests praise the cleanliness of the facilities, the peaceful setting, and the convenience of the location. One visitor mentioned that they stayed at the North site for eight days and found it to be a beautiful spot with access to a vault restroom, which was particularly appreciated. They noted that the only drawbacks were the presence of neighboring dogs that frequented the campsite and the lack of trash bins, urging others to pack out their waste.

Despite these minor issues, the overall experience at Silver Creek Campground is overwhelmingly positive. The combination of stunning natural scenery, modern amenities, and affordable rates makes it a must-visit for anyone traveling through Idaho’s Sawtooth Valley. Two locations, one with one camp site, the other with two camp sites. Both have a new clean vault toilet. Access roads are nice graded gravel all weather road but the connection between the two sites below the main gravel rd is very narrow and almost should be one way traffic. Sites have shade canopies over tables and the tent box is the highest I have ever seen, a tent square full of gravel...good drainage. Sites are free and on the bank of a small stream ( Silver Creek). Excellent cell service for both Verizon and TMobile. Area vegetation is open sagebrush, scattered junipers.

We stayed at the smaller (North) site for 8 days and loved it! Beautiful spot.... and a plus was having access to a vault restroom. The only part I disliked was that the dogs from the farm next door often frequented our camp and pooped everywhere and sprayed our outdoor items. Also, there are no trash bins available so please be sure to pack out your trash! I definitely would stay here again!

It is a single campsite that is free for up to 14 days. It has a firepit and picnic table right next to a river. Camping at it's best

Slept here before fishing season opened. Peaceful. The covered pavilions and clean pit tiolets were great. The sound of the spring fed creek was excellent. Good location and great lower elevation camping option. I expect this place to be more busy during fishing season.

Epic free BLM camping. Very nice dirt road to get to the sites (there is technically only three but many places along the road to park or throw a tent up). Two vault toilets that had toilet paper, although they couldve used some fly traps. Sunsets were beautiful and I saw some muskrats swimming up the creek!!!
