The park features over 16 kilometers of interconnected trails that wind through ancient trees, crystal-clear streams, and stunning waterfalls. Incredible park with beautiful waterfalls. I started near south falls and was immediately greeted with a rushing waterfall. I was there in August and it was dry overall, but there was still water flowing. The main falls (south and north) were flowing but the rest were dry or mostly dry, but the water I did see was amazing. I did the full loop which ended up being about 16km, which sounds long but did not feel long as the terrible was easy and mostly flat. The entire trip was about 4.5 hours in total. The best part was being able to walk behind the falls, especially north falls. It was such a unique experience with the vast cave and well worth the special trip to see it. I would go again if I was anywhere near the area!

Wonderful state park with well maintained facilities and trails. My wife and I have probably visited half a dozen times at this point throughout various points of the year / seasons. As of Jan 2025, parking dues have increased to $10 for all State Parks if I recall correctly. There are pay meters that accept card payment in the parking lots though which is helpful! In the summer: Pack along a little extra water. It can still get warm, and while there are fountains around the South Trailhead, it's good to carry some for the longer stretch (such as if you're hiking the 10 Falls trail). In the winter: Exercise extra caution when nearing freezing temperatures. The trails (which are paved / hardtop) near the falls get a good layer of ice and can be dangerous. If hiking during the winter, carrying a set of crampons and opting for round-about trails that take you away from going under the falls is something I would highly recommend. Water fountains are also often winterized during the winter months, so be sure and pack along enough water for you and your families' activities for the day (interior buildings / facilities should have running water when open). Footwear: Trails are all pretty much all well paved, so whatever is comfortable for your hike length! Wobbles and bumps in the trail can still be expected, so ankle support may be appreciated (I typically wear boots). Enjoy the park and please remember to pack out what you pack in! :)

Beautiful waterfalls in every season, but winter is best time to visit falls because they’re full of water and not many people hiking. Safe to hike in the rain. Be prepared for mud though! Stunning views 10/10. I come back every couple months to hike a new trail and see a new waterfall. (Hint: Middle north falls is the best one 🙌).

Silver Falls State Park in Oregon is an absolute gem for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Located about 20 miles east of Salem, the park is known for its stunning waterfalls, lush forests, and well-maintained trails. The iconic Trail of Ten Falls is a must-do, offering visitors the chance to hike past, and even behind, several breathtaking waterfalls. The trail is relatively moderate in difficulty, making it accessible to a wide range of hikers, though some sections can be slippery, so sturdy shoes are a must. The park itself is pristine, with towering trees and vibrant greenery, creating a peaceful, almost magical atmosphere. Each waterfall has its own unique charm, but South Falls is particularly impressive, with its 177-foot drop. The sound of the rushing water and the cool mist from the falls make the hike even more enjoyable.

Came here from Indiana and this place is incredible! Did several fall trails and got to go behind several waterfalls! Highly recommend!!! Salmon berries galore, we ate many lol. The trails are so magical. We got here at 8am and walked several, enjoyed them more than we thought we would. Loved driving around this area as well. Highly recommend!!!
