Lots of beautiful picnic areas. They stock the lake every year for some great trout fishing. They have wonderful dry cabins that are close to the bathrooms, and there are gazebos with fireplaces, you can drive to all the parts of the park so it's for the most part completely wheelchair accessible, might need someone to help push but again everything is close to parking. They have paddle boat rentals in the summer. They also have a ton of camp spots and the extended camping spots at the Red mountian silver lake campground . I've been coming here since I was a kid and will continue to until I can't.
This was my second time staying at Silver Lake in the cabins. Very peaceful. The cabin (Tomyhoi), which I’ve stayed in both times is great. My dogs love laying in their beds in front of the gas fireplace. We will definitely be staying again.
We enjoyed our 2 days! Beautiful, well-cared for, shaded campsites with individual firepit/grill. We stayed at cedar campsite. Nice shaded trail to the lake from camp. There are lodges and cabins that look nice too. The lake is delightful; peddle boats, kayaks, paddle boards, canoes can be rented. It can get crowded on weekends, esp. with the added day use peeps. Evenings were quiet. Did not have any cell or internet service there (which isn't a bad thing!)
We enjoyed our 4 days! Beautiful, well-cared for, shaded campsites with individual firepit/grill. Brand new shower/toilet structure at Maple Creek campground. Nice shaded trail to the lake from camp. (Wish there were more!) There are lodges and cabins that look nice too. The lake is delightful; peddle boats, kayaks, paddle boards, canoes can be rented. The Lake is the center of activity for both the 2 and 4-legged among us. It can get crowded on weekends, esp. with the added day use peeps. Evenings were quiet. Did not have any cell or internet service there (which isn't a bad thing!) They were doing weed control in the lake one day. Signs said they've had success keeping them under control but it must be a constant effort. We'd like to try camping there again in the fall.
Beautiful PNW summer day...as evident by the huge crowds out there. The lake itself is beautiful. Just wish there were more parking spaces. It's my fault for going out the weekend after July 4th, though. I've been here before during the off season and it was very peaceful. I guess, just plan your trip accordingly.
