Recently stayed here and it is an amazing resort. But know before you go: it is geared towards adults, no wifi and no picnic tables. We read reviews and brought our own small table. The grounds are beautiful and clean, we felt very comfortable there. The showers are by far the best ones we've ever had at a campground / resort. Everyone we met and passed while walking and biking were very nice. The pool area has a small bar and food from 11-4 Tues to Sat and the food was great and very reasonably priced.
The amenities looked very nice, however the community as a whole is very unfriendly. We were "welcomed" with a list of what not to do, and pretty much told that children are not that welcomed and others will complain about children often. We felt very uncomfortable the whole time we were there because we had children. If you're an adult only park, please state that on your website or at least put your rules online so people know before arrival what to expect. I hope this helps other families.
Truly a wonderful experience. Btw, the most amazing library with atmospheric lighting and scented air, comfy coaches and cozy as all get out. A friendly and helpful staff. Lots of sports and billiard room, gym, game room. All meticulously cared for. Recommend it highly long or short term.
If you have an RV and want to explore Okeechobee County, you can't beat Silver Palms Resort. Tiki Huts on most lots. Daytime/Nighttime activities. You can not get bord . Hunting/Fishing/Hiking/Bike Riding. Wonderful people/well run Resort. You only live once, why waste your most precious gift....Time..
