We camped in site # 5 end of July and loved it. Maroon Bells didn’t disappoint. Campground was small and relatively private sites. Pit toilets were very well maintained. Site 5 has some healthy slope in the forward - aft direction so bring some blocks for the tongue jack if you have a trailer. Side to side was just little slope. We were there mid week and it was mostly empty. Only negative is the water fill spicket in the campground was broken and has been for years. My pop up is 20ft long and I had to park my truck at an angle so I wouldn’t reccomend rig bigger than 20ft on site 5.
This is a small loop with no host and no water. There is only 1 medium sized tent pad in site #2. Beautiful location near Maroon Bells though.
The most beautiful campsite we encountered on our trip all over Colorado. Site 6 was gorgeous with a beautiful view of Maroon Bells and a rolling river to soothe you to sleep!
Site 3 - Beautiful campground, great location at maroon bells. The Aspen trees were stunning!
Excellent and quiet campground. We stayed in site #3 for two nights a couple weeks ago and there was no one in most of the sites so it was practically our own. I enjoyed our site being close to the CLEANEST pit toilets ever (21 weeks pregnant requires more bathroom trips) and the rush of the creek is peaceful. Our dogs also enjoyed watching the fox that visited the open sites nearby. You also can't beat being able to access the Maroon Bells when you want. It was one reason I booked the site. I would love to be here in the peak fall season!
