Silver strand beach is a beautiful, flat beach. The stretch of sand is great to sit and have a picnic, watch the sunset. Sometimes you can see ships and planes in the same frame, makes a great photo.
What a lovely park, right on the sand! We stayed a week. Full hookups, (no sewer, but a nice man is available to empty tanks for a fee and there is a dump station) and great sunsets. Note: no getting in the water due to contamination from Mexico. Go further north if you want to get in.
Pictures are from the Campground at Silver Strand State Beach taking the bike trail to Marina Parkway. 16 miles round trip. Start by going under the highway with the tunnel at the Campground head to your left when you come out until you see the access to the bike trail and then head south. Bike trail ends at Main St and 5 fwy go north and take the first left turn. The bike bike trail starts again on the left side of the street at the first stop sign. Take that to Marinia Parkway and turn left to go to the park on bay.
