The Silver Valley Campground closed in the early 1970's. The Silver Valley area is now part of the Corsair Ski Trail complex. The winter trails are groomed and maintained for cross-country skiing. Snowshoeing is not allowed on the groomed ski trails. During the spring, summer and fall seasons, the trails are a popular destination for hikers and trail runners. Please note that photos in another post on this page show a mountain bike. At each of the three trailheads there are prominent signs notifying trail users that mountain bikes are prohibited on the trails.
Great place for cross country skiing. Connects to corsaire trail and wright lake trailheads.
I hike these trails about 6 months out of the year. The trails are old two tracks and make for easy hikes. Lots of wildlife, have seen coyotes, otters, bear, turkey, deer, fox, grouse and yes last year feral chickens.
I've always loved the trails and campground. Small and primitive, but beautiful! I've been camping here since I was a kid in boy scouts. If you're a fan of nature there's plenty to do here year round!
Trails only. No campgrounds here.
