Car camped here for the weekend. Sites have a fire pit with grill grate, power, and picnic bench. The site I chose was smaller as I didn't need a ton of space but there are larger RV sites as well as tent sites that are tucked more into the woods.
What a great state park. Very clean and quiet.
Very nice and clean campground. Bathrooms clean. Would be 5 but playground for kids could use improvement and water access point can be improved.
Nice, quiet campground with beautiful surroundings. Would highly recommend it.
Sites are spacious which is a plus, but no privacy between them and fairly close together, save for a few tent only non-pet sites. Overall I'd say it's just fine enough if you have an RV or trailer or don't have a dog and use one of the tent only sites, but I cannot recommend staying here in a tent with a dog. Definitely also consider another site if you're hoping to do some stargazing in the area too - the facilities here are much nicer than cherry springs but the campground itself is very bright at night and others are closer to cherry springs and better night spots. I probably won't use this one again but only because there's so many other options nearby that I think are a bit better.
This is a nice, but small campground in a remote part of Pennsylvania. The area is beautiful. The first fork of sinnemahoning is a beautiful large creek. I went there for the fishing but was somewhat disappointed due to some very heavy storms in the morning we arrived raised water levels and reduced water clarity. The state park is nice with updated facilities, a nice visitor center . There are really no convenience nearby, and cell service was not available for my carrier.
Quiet park with a wonderful wildlife visitor center. The campground has electric only sites and there is potable water available to fill your holding tank. The bath house is clean and showers have been upgraded (no more push buttons). The fishing is good in the stocked creek and the rail trail is great for walking and biking. The 40 Maples day use area has picnic tables and a playground with easy access to the creek for fishing. Plenty of wildlife, including elk, can be seen in the park as well.
