Customer Reviews
All summer me and friends walk and clean trash and have fun with our kids. Camping is fun and clean out there. I also have fun feeding small animals. They play with my dog too.
Clean, easily accessible, and even though it's just a mile from the nearest town, it still feels remote.
Sioux County Conservation has made this an amazing campground and international an amazing camping experience.
We are from out of state, but Sandy Hallow has to be one of my favorite campgrounds. We camp there every year. The campground is clean and very spacious. This year we had our son's send-off to the Marines boot-camp party at the shelter house. The campground host was AMAZING and was very accommodating and very helpful. He helped us transport our belongings from the campsite to the shelter house and helped us out with parking for our guests. If I could give this more stars, I definitely would. Highly recommend this campground if you are looking for a great place to stay.
Probably 4.5 stars, I just can't rate it as high as Rivers Bend in Rock Valley. Sandy Hollow was a Sand pit turned golf course in the seventies, fast forward thirty years and the city of Sioux Center wanted a nicer golf course and housing development so they pawned it off on the Sioux County conservation department. Who had a desire to make it more natural. Well that has been a struggle, but they made the ponds larger and they got rid of excess trees and it is so much better than it was a couple years ago. Most of the sites are gravel and the drive is gravel, but it features nature walks and a nice beach and two ponds to swim, kayak or canoe, and fish in. The bathroom is adequately clean most days(honestly I haven't been to a campground outside of this area that I can even stand the bathrooms at, so when I say adequate that's good).
