The site is situated about 200 to 300 feet from a road that experiences only occasional vehicle traffic, contributing to its secluded feel.

Campers should be prepared for potentially unpaved or gravel forest roads. Despite its rustic access, the proximity to the Au Sable River is a major draw, offering campers direct, though potentially challenging, access to the water. The serene, forested setting provides a sense of detachment, yet it remains within a reasonable driving distance of towns like Oscoda for essential supplies, balancing a wilderness experience with practical considerations for Michigan adventurers.

Customer Reviews
It is a pretty big open camp site about 200 to 300 feet from the road that has a couple cars drive by every few hours. Can setup multiple tents with several cars and still have room. The view is pretty good through the trees but mostly is blocked by them. Water access is about a 100ft very steep slope/cliff. I would be impressed if you get a kayak up or down it lol. There is a rope we attached to help aid climbing up and down it. Once you get down the cliff the water access is super nice with comfy sandy floor. Great for swimming. Bon fire ring does have a grate for cooking on and there are plenty of dead downed trees to use as firewood. I would bring a axe/saw though. Definitely recommend if you dont care about kayak water access.
Large site on the highbanks. Good mix of sun and shade. I recommend this site.
Great secluded site. No electricity, water, or bathroom. Beautiful view up on the hill.
Fun camping spot..
