Restrooms clean but not equiped...tp was gone by end of first day with 3 camp sites and 1 rv spot taken. Ranger never came and no pay envelops at entry. Hiking is fantastic. Fishing requires water wading to be able to cast...steep, beautiful canyon. Fire damage still present from several years prior.
The Six Mile Trail Head says horses. There is no way that this trail is safe for horses. My daughter and I rode in and found a couple miles in that it was impassible. Had to turn around on a very narrow trail with a drop to the river on one side and the side hill on the other. Miraculously neither me or my daughter's horse ended up going over the side -- although hers fell during the process.
Close to the waters edge with a hike down a groomed trail to the river. Tree covered spaces for tent campers with a few pull-through camper spots. Nice fire pits with Bbq grate.
Quiet solitude in the middle of nowhere. Best night of sleep over the last couple of weeks. We used it for a one night stopover in route to Lander from Santa Fe. Ended up being a perfect choice!
This is a pretty nice camp ground. Nothing over the top but everything you need to have a good weekend fishing is here. The first review by Terry Usrey doesn't do it justice. All of his complaints have nothing to do with the camp site and everything to do with poor planning. Its in the middle of nowhere of course its locked down tell Memorial day and its Wyoming its windy. This camp site gives you access to some great water and some beautiful views. Fore sure worth the trip just check the weather before you go.
