This is one of my favorite campgrounds for backpacking trip at North Cascades. It is worth hiking all day to the campsite and setting up a tent at the end of the day. The campground is located ~12 miles from the Colonial campground and has access to the river. While we were there we had met several elks who came for food. I highly recommend to carry a gun as it is possible to meet black bears and cougars.
