๐Ÿ•๏ธ **Introduction / Overview: True Lakeside Seclusion at Lake Murray**

**Ski Jump Campground**, located on the scenic west end of **Lake Murray State Park**, offers Oklahoma campers a unique and highly prized experience: **primitive, lakeside camping** that is truly immersive. Named for the lake's former ski jump cove, this small, quiet campground is celebrated for its stunning natural setting and its immediate proximity to the water's edge. As one delighted camper put it, "I was expecting it to be lakeside, but not ***this* lakeside**. I'm impressed with this little campground."

This destination is explicitly tailored for the **outdoorsman type** or the dedicated tent camper who is willing to forego modern utilities for unparalleled natural beauty and peace. Ski Jump is classified as **"unimproved camping"** or **"primitive"**, meaning it intentionally lacks the development found at other Lake Murray campgrounds. The reward for this self-reliance is a highly **peaceful** environment where **all of the campsites are nice** and situated right next to the lake, perfect for fishing or kayaking.

Crucially, prospective visitors must heed the warnings from fellow campers: **"Keep in mind there is no water, electricity, or nice restrooms on-site. Plan accordingly!"** The trade-off, however, is exceptional. The campground is secluded yet still provides the modern convenience of **cell reception/internet**, which is a "nice" advantage for safety and connectivity. With easy access to the **Lake Murray Nature Center** and the comforting occasional presence of **park rangers who roll by to make sure everyone is ok**, Ski Jump is the ideal spot for those who seek maximum tranquility with minimal amenities.

When I reserved this campsite I was expecting it to be lakeside, but not *this* lakeside. I'm impressed with this little campground.

Ski Jump campground is a great tent camping spot. All of the campsites are nice - there arenโ€™t really certain ones that are far better than others. Itโ€™s very peaceful, the lake is right next to you for fishing or kayaking, fire pits at each spot with large rocks for containment, and the wood tables were recently replaced with new metal picnic tables. You will not be bothered with wildlife as long as you keep your food/trash contained. Keep in mind there is no water, electricity, or nice restrooms on-site. Plan accordingly! Itโ€™s a perfect secluded spot while still giving you cell reception/internet which is nice. The reservation/parking permit process is easy and the park rangers occasionally roll by to make sure everyone is ok.

Very nice place to camp, itโ€™s primitive so be ready but itโ€™s nice and clean. Lake water looks cleaner than the ones in Texas

Great campground! Not busy during the week. Right on the water! Showers, water spickets, and modern toilets are just down the road a few miles at Buzzards Roost campground.

This camp spot we had was the best! Right on the water. Checkin and parking passes were super easy to do. Kids had fun fishing and swimming. They found probably 2 twelve packs worth of cans in the water so water shoes are a good idea. (We threw all the cans away that we found, btw)
