Ski-kwe zaag'igan (Squaw Lake) State Forest Campground

This is a nice place to get away for some solitude. You can swim at the boat launch but it’s rocky. We took floaties out into deeper waters. It’s very picturesque.

While you're here, you'll find amenities such as vault toilets and potable water from a hand-pump well. Please remember that this is a "carry-in, carry-out" campground, so be sure to pack out your trash. 🚣‍♂️ Nestled 15 miles southwest of Republic via M-95 South, this campground offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Campsites are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, with a maximum stay limit of 15 days. 🚗 Activities at Ski-kwe zaag’igan State Forest Campground cater to a variety of interests: 🎣 Fishing: Whether you're after rainbow trout, splake, bluegill, perch, or bass, Mino-kwezenhs zaagigan (lake) has it all. Nearby fishing opportunities can also be found at Horseshoe Lake (east) and Twin Lakes (3 miles south). 🦌 Hunting: This campground provides access to state land open to hunting. Just remember, firearm hunting isn't allowed within 450 feet of an occupied dwelling. 🏍️ Off-Road Adventure: Off-road vehicle enthusiasts will appreciate that ORVs are permitted in and out of the campground. All county and state forest roads in the area are open to ORVs. Hands down for sure this was the best birthday ever camping in the State Forest Campground and a rustic one two boot courage incorporated is a great organization they provided everything for this camping free of charge and who know you can bake a birthday cake in the middle of the woods in a rustic campgrounds that was awesome the meals we we're awesome and very filling and far more than I could ever eat it's always plenty of food plenty of laughter and lots of fun I hope I get invited again next year that would be great had a lot of fun fishing swimming pool I would recommend this campground to anybody very clean quiet and wake up in the morning to the loons singing me a song great Campground with fishing swimming in the evening we had a great time singing around the campfire with my new friends kindled Spirits if you will courage incorporated is a nonprofit organization so they can use some donations you can use all the donations so just Google courage Incorporated of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan this camping trip is one that I'll remember for the rest of my life never had a birthday like that probably never will again camping was awesome the people were awesome food was awesome everything is awesome a blast nice nice birthday good place to go again hats off to all my courage incorporated friends for inviting me to join you on this trip thank you so very much I loved it and all of you people are superb

One of my favorite places to camp! The fishing is spectacular and the campsites are large and some have boat docks.

Beautiful hardwood forest. Not too many mosquitoes. Some sites are close together but it wasn't very busy.
