Imagine finding a quiet spot by a creek, exploring for heart-shaped rocks, or simply enjoying the vibrant fields of wildflowers and local wildlife. It’s a place where the pace slows down, and the simple pleasures of nature take center stage.
Despite its primitive nature, guests consistently commend how well-maintained the campground is, noting clean vault toilets and accessible water. This dedication to upkeep ensures a comfortable stay for those prepared for a rustic adventure. Whether you're passing through and need a peaceful overnight stop, or you're looking for a basecamp for hiking and fishing excursions in the Deep Creek Canyon area, Skidway Campground provides an affordable and beautiful setting. It’s truly a spot where you can anticipate returning, eager to once again enjoy its calm and picturesque environment.
Skidway Campground boasts a strategic location that is both accessible and offers a sense of being wonderfully removed from the hustle and bustle. Customer Reviews
It is a roadside picnic area. I took the photos of the wildlife there. There was a creek that ran along side. I found many heart shaped rocks, as I played in the water for a while..... such a nice peaceful afternoon.... 1. Indian paint brush 2. Fields of flowers
Set far back and up the mountain. Road in wasn't too bad, just a few potholes. Price is right for the site. The sites are well marked, and the views from this campground are beautiful. Vault toilet was as clean as could be expected. Weeds had grown up around the potable water pump, but it wasn't hard to just walk through. Can't wait for another camping trip here!
It’s all but abandoned. There’s no sign of any maintenance. Nature is doing a great job of taking it back. Roads are full of pot holes and at some areas trenches.
Clean and quiet. Sites are far enough apart you aren't on top of each other.
Great little campground for small RVs, vans or tenters. No level spots for anything larger. Quiet and peaceful.
