This is a safe and friendly campground. Sam is very helpful. I had issues setting up my motor home and he made himself available to assist, so grateful ! The accommodations are simple and pleasant. The campground is nestled behind a community center building, an old baseball field. There is a local dollar store within a mile and it has just about everything. Also there is a local quick mart / restaurant, Kat’s Place, which is warm and cozy and convenient for a home cooked meal. If you are looking for peace and quiet and a place away from hustle and bustle I highly recommend Skoolhouse campground.

We moved to this wonderful community and we absolutely love it here an plan on staying a long time! It is a very clean campground. Sam is awesome, we even got a little front yard for our doggies to run around on their tethers while we have a cook out! The neighbors are so very kind and many have pets as well. There is also a community dumpster for convenience which is a plus. This is a very quiet little campground, it is also not right on the road so walking pets or letting kids play outside is a bit safer. This campground is also very clean. We pay $650 a month for our lot rent and utilities are included as well. Many people here have wifi on their lots. So $650 for everything except wifi isn't bad at all. Also lawn care and upkeep is provided as well. Here there is no lot numbers forail to be delivered to your lot but there is a community mailbox if you need to use it to get mail or you can always get a PO box or have your mail sent to a family member or friends house if you can do that and want to. It is just an absolutely amazing place to live and we look forward to living here for a long time!!

New campground that is set up with graveled, roomy lots each with well maintained lawn areas and sewer hookups. Very clean, secluded, and privacy a plus. There is a community park/children's playground within walking distance. The location is ideal as it is within 20 miles of Rock Island State Park and even closer to the Collins River; both of these locations provide access to swimming, fishing, kayaking, hiking trails and beautiful waterfalls. Many nearby exceptional restaurants and unique shopping opportunities around the historic town square of McMinnville, TN. The owners/management are very personable and professional, extending friendly Southern hospitality, and quickly responsive to any needs!

We stayed at this campground before it officially opened last year. All of the others were full to the brim and we couldn't keep renting and borrowing a truck to bounce around the state parks. Pros: the only place like it in the immediate area, nearby shops, privacy, feels like a safe area for kids*, lots are a nice size with grass instead of just gravel, sewer hookups, trash disposal close-by Cons: no laundry, bathhouse or onsite propane, no wifi, no onsite activities, lot floods horribly every time it rains, management friendly but not terribly professional. Despite ending on a sour note, it was generally a pleasant experience staying here and management worked with us for the most part. The privacy was nice, the place we are staying now is 5 times the size and packed to the brim and I do miss the relative seclusion (there was never more than 6 rigs there from October to January). The gravel was not properly crushed in which makes for a bumpy ride in, terrible flooding and mud holes and frequent re-leveling. The place we're staying now is all gravel and we don't have these issues so it's absolutely avoidable. While it seems a safe place for kids the seclusion means there isn't a lot of other kids around and my son was frequently bored, granted it was also wintertime. During better weather there may be more activity at the nearby park. We were not made to turn over our IDs or do any sort of background despite being long term campers, that does put me on edge a bit as far as who we may have been staying around. There are no onsite amenities, this was mainly an issue when looking for propane as nearby places were frequently out and we ended up driving all over town. Management did state that they planned to add wifi and a dog park when the weather got better. Management was friendly and helpful until our last few days there, however the communication style always left a little to be desired. Communications were always through text, heavily misspelled and full of all caps and exclamation marks and sometimes took a moment to decipher. They were frequently not during business hours and at times took on a threatening tone, the last text received was before 7 o'clock in the morning, very rude and threatening and I received no response when I ultimately spoke up about this unprofessional conduct. The only time I spoke to anyone on the phone it was about an issue with the family dog, he raised his voice, swore and took objection to the fact that I called instead of my spouse. That was the moment that I decided we would be finding elsewhere to stay regardless of how we proceeded to deal with our dog. In my opinion if you're long term and in a pinch give it a shot, short term and not dealing with a commute to Nashville or Murfreesboro then drive another 30 minutes up the road to Rock Hill state park and take advantage of the beautiful views and excellent wifi. Tl;Dr: comfortable, clean, quiet place to stay in a pinch but in need of amenities and a business manager to handle communications.

Looking to setup and relax, then this is your place to go! The people who run it are great! Need anything at all, they are there to help. Everything is new! Very convenient. Right off a main road, so it’s easy to get to town. Clean. I highly recommend!
