For a small area that looks busy was a very quiet place, exactly as we wanted. We could watch a beautiful sunrise and sundown, amazing view of the lake with nature. And worth mentioning the the whole campground was clean and showers for those who needed. We will come back and referral other worth to stay.

This is a beautiful place to camp. Skull Island CG is on a small isthmus in a lake, away from all the hubbub of the city. The entire staff was helpful and friendly. The nightly rate was reasonable. We will be back.

This is one of our favorite campgrounds around Chattanooga. Very well maintained. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommend. Some sites along the outer parameter do have a pretty good slope and the booking website doesn’t provide pictures or descriptions. Not a bad idea to call the office for guidance when booking. Generally, the inner sites are all level and mostly shaded. Photos are of site 28. We think sites 27, 28 and 29 are about the best.

Not allowing EV charging is one thing, lying about it is another. What they have written about how EVs charge is completely false. Simply written out of ignorance. As you can see by the reply, they simply don’t know how EVs charge. For example, an EV charging on a 15 amp 110 volt circuit charges exactly like your cell phone does. But at a rate of 4 miles per hour for an average cost of just under 15 cents per hour, and just like your cell phone, charging stops when the level is reached just like your cell phone does. Most EV owners set 80 percent. An EV can’t be charged on the 30 amp circuit at campgrounds because of how the RV 30 is wired. If you plug into the 30 amp circuit, nothing will happen. However, an EV can be charged on the 50 amp circuit, and just like 15 amp, when the level set is reached, charging stops, just like your cell phone, laptop, tablet, or any other battery device. The difference on the 50 amp circuit is the rate which can be as high as 30 or so miles per hour at a cost of $10.80 per hour. It’s going to cost the exact same thing to charge on either circuit, the only difference is time. In both cases, just like your phone, charging stops when the limit is reached. If you only drove your EV 10 miles, the cost to charge is going to be $0.36 no matter which circuit you charge it on, and no matter how long the cord stays plugged in. It’s that simple.

Our family enjoyed our two weeks at Skull Island immensely!! The lake was absolutely beautiful, teeming with wildlife and brightness. The hosts were brilliant and friendly. We were sorry to hear that the scavenger hunt is no more- ours kids would’ve loved it! Be careful on the steep incline into the park… the steps on our Class C were bent upon entry, unfortunately! We’ll definitely return!

We had the most relaxing weekend at Skull Island - Site 31. Easy site to access with 38 ft. fifth wheel. To us it was the best site - water views out our back bedroom window as well as out front (a corner spot). There was a nice size grassy area in front for kids/pets to run around/play games. Quiet campground and super-friendly staff.

This is my 2nd trip to this campground! The staff there is extremely nice and very helpful! They do a great job running the campground. The location of the campground is great, and the sunsets are amazing. My first trip I stayed (in a tent) towards the middle and had very little issue with any noises. This visit we were directly across from the boat ramp. The views were gorgeous, but if you are in a tent I don't recommend staying facing the boat ramp. It was super noisy from about 11pm until 4am from those night fishing. That wasn't an issue with anyone at the campground or the campground itself, and I'm sure would be much better in an RV than a tent.

Absolutely love camping here! Would give a full five stars because it honestly has everything we love about a campground. Unfortunately my children look forward to the scavenger hunt each trip and we learned this weekend they no longer offer that 😕 would love to have that back as it really gets the children more excited about this campground compared to others.
