Customer Reviews
I chose this place for its location. I booked third party and we were put on the third floor (324). The third floor hallway had a sour mildew smell. The A/C was not on and they had a dehumidifier running. The room was clean enough, but it smelled bad too. The bathroom door was hard to shut, and the shower curtain had mold on it. The small couch in the room had cigarette burns on it. We heard a dog barking all night long and didn't sleep well. The breakfast was all carbs; cereal, waffles, bagels, toast, mini muffins and yogurt were all there was to choose from. The juice was sour tasting and the coffee was unpleasant. This place was overpriced for what they offered and I will not stay there again.
Work trip...everyone complained how watery the waffle mix was and other options. My experience in the rooms were this: The floors were terribly dirty, the bathroom fan was incredibly noisy, the paint fumes in the room lingered for days, Incredible noisy place to rest as the sleep inn was the sleepless inn. Price was a bit more than expected for lack of comfort.
Decent Stay for the Price, But Some Drawbacks We stayed at Sleep Inn & Suites during the off-season (first week of October), and while the price was reasonable, there were several things that detracted from our experience. Our room had an unpleasant odor, a strange mix of fried Chinese food and rotting fruit, which lingered the entire stay. The hallways also smelled like water damage, which might have bothered me more as a person who’s particularly sensitive to smells. On a positive note, the hotel is located right in the middle of town, making it extremely convenient to get to everything. The check-in and check-out process was very quick, and the staff was friendly and accommodating, which we appreciated. Although we didn’t use the pool, we did appreciate having the pool accommodations available. While our bed linens weren’t changed during our four-night stay despite signage indicating they would be changed every third night, our towels were replaced daily, and our trash was taken out regularly. However, all the fabric in our room—from our sheets to our clothes—felt strangely damp just from being in the room. I assume the hotel has an overall moisture issue, as I noticed a dehumidifier in the hallway on the third floor. The walls were also extremely thin. We could hear our neighbors talking, walking, and even their TV. Luckily, we had pleasant neighbors who didn’t seem to mind our fussy baby, but we were sure they could hear every one of her cries. On our second night, though, our other neighbors got into a screaming match and smashed glass at 3 AM. It was unfortunate to discover that the phone in our room didn’t work, so I had to quickly Google the hotel’s number to call reception. Fortunately, the staff responded quickly to address the situation and discourage the disruption. The breakfast area was reliable and kept fairly clean, but the selection was minimal. That said, the waffle maker definitely saved the experience. It’s clear that the hotel has recently undergone renovations, but the work feels half-hearted. The thickly painted-over sheetrock with visible flaws was hard to miss, and the water-damaged smell was overpowering in the lobby. It’s surprising that, despite being in a prime tourist location, more effort wasn’t put into maintaining the property. For the price, it was okay, but I expected a bit more attention to detail, especially given the obvious recent renovations.
Room smelled awful!! I’ve lived in foley for 5 years you didn’t even know the place was where it was, I never even heard of it. thought it was the one next to Dodges. The housekeeping staff was very sweet and made sure we had towels. They do not have a continental breakfast I don’t know what kind of breakfast that was the bagels were frozen the juice tasted awful sour they had one egg in the refrigerated part no meat cereal was Stale.
I do not recommend staying here. The room we stayed in was in need of more cleaning and quite a few repairs. It was dirty and had a strange smell to it. The bedding was oddly damp every morning as well, I'm guessing the hotel has a water problem as there were bits of mold here and there. When we first walked in I noticed a large roach on the floor of the bathroom (alive) which is concerning. You have to use two different remotes to operate the TV. The coffee maker in the room randomly would start leaking coffee everywhere. There was no "do not disturb" sign to hang on the door which was just odd as most hotels have them. There was never anyone at the front desk. The breakfast was a huge letdown, just stale cereal and muffins. The walls are somewhat thin, we were able to hear every sound on our floor. For 400$ for 3 nights, I was expecting a lot more. On to the positives though - after a 12 hour drive we were able to stay here without any reservation which was nice. They have a pool open 9 am - 9 pm. The place is a bit hidden but that's not always a bad thing. We were only 23 minutes away from the beach, and there were plenty of stores and restaurants near by. Overall, I'd say find a different hotel, but if you need a place to stay on short notice, this would be an option.
