Sleeping Bear Bed & Breakfast

We had a very relaxing time at this charming bed and breakfast. Our hosts, Libby and Dean, were exceptional, going above and beyond to make our stay truly amazing. Libby even brought us local donuts and apples in the morning! Our room was not only lovely but also equipped with cozy bathrobes, sightseeing books and anything you may need. The property itself was a delight, featuring inviting hammocks, a fire pit area, and a barn with games and a TV—perfect for relaxation after a day of hiking. With its close proximity to numerous trails, we had plenty of opportunities to explore the stunning surroundings. After our adventures, we appreciated unwinding with a movie! Overall, this was the perfect getaway. We ate well, hiked to our hearts’ content, and enjoyed restful nights. We can’t recommend this place highly enough. Thank you, Libby and Dean, for an unforgettable late summer retreat. We can’t wait to return!

One of the best B&B’s I’ve been to, and Libby (owner) was an absolute pleasure to make our stay perfect. This was so much better than just a room at a hotel anywhere else! The breakfast was legendary, and truly gourmet! We had avocado toast with eggs that she added a bit of cooked broccoli (never tried eggs with it before but trust me it’s amazing!) and turkey bacon. We even got to add some of Libby’s home-made violet syrup to our drinks which was an absolutely unique and tasty experience (can’t say she’ll have that for your stay but it shows the level of care she takes with her guests). The Sleeping Bear room is private with its own bathroom and you can use the kitchen just outside which is a huge plus! There’s also a small dvd collection if you want to watch a movie with the room’s TV and player. Immediately outside a small walk-way to the fire-pit and the houses pet rabbit. It lit at night and looks magical. It rained our night but it something that we would have done, everything’s set up. There’s a barn with a TV (w/ dvd player) and some puzzles and a few board games if you find yourself rained in on a night! We made a puzzle! Really cosy! Definitely reserve one of the rooms here over a hotel, will be much more romantic and so much better service.

We always appreciate finding a dog friendly place to stay. They were very friendly toward our senior dog. The grounds are lovely and calming. The best part for us though was that my partner is vegan so like our other stays at B&B’s we expected we’d opt out of breakfast. Instead, Libby was incredibly accommodating. She made us phenomenal vegan breakfasts every day. It’s really hard to find those diet options at small B&B’s. We will definitely be back! (The room was also very comfortable and nice) no complaints about this stay. Highly recommend!

This is honestly one of the best experiences we’ve had at a bed and breakfast. Libby and Dean are outstanding hosts who went over and beyond to ensure that our visit was comfortable and enjoyable. Breakfast each day was healthy and plentiful, thoughtfully presented and delicious. Our room was lovely with wonderful linens, a yoga mat and natural, organic amenities made by Libby. There was a guidebook with local trails and other reading materials. The grounds are welcoming; hammocks, chairs by the fire pit, a barn with games and a TV - really everything anyone could want. A perfect respite - we ate well, hiked all day (great location, a close drive to multiple trails), enjoyed the DVD movies in our room and slept peacefully. My husband and I can not recommend this experience more highly. Thank you Libby and Dean for helping us enjoy a wonderful late summer retreat. We plan to visit you again someday soon.

First time at a bed and breakfast and now the bar is raised so high! Libby was wonderful and I'm pretty sure she could be a professional chef. Breakfast was amazing, our room was fantastic and the little amenities we're lovely! Everything local and organic! We'll be back.
